Cross posting from the acro forum, just trying to get some advice.

I FINALLY got Tigger's cabergoline and got it started after USPS lost it for a month. Anyway, we are debating on an emergency vet visit. He has been on it for a week. At dinner tonight, he was acting completely normal. Then, while eating, he explosively vomited. Went right downstairs, got in the box and tried to pee. Got out, meowed loudly, vomited again and kept getting in and out of the box, dribbling. Now he's acting mostly normal, came running for treats. I am trying to decide if we can wait until morning and go to the regular vet. I've already spent so much money already, I'm not sure what to do. I would much rather wait until morning to go to the regular vet but will take him immediately if necessary. Has anyone noticed any side effects with cabergoline like this? I'm so worried this is my fault and I did this to him by giving him the medication.
Could it just have been a fluke? Nothing to worry about?

He is getting 0.4ml of 200mcg/ml. I started out at every other day based on the recommendation of my vet, so he has had 5 doses so far. I am in the process of updating my spreadsheet for the year but no unusual numbers.

I have been under so much stress lately at work (I am a nurse) and I also received some bad health news and have been dealing with managing that. I had a literal break down tonight and I just don't know what to do. He's been doing better with his numbers and his symptoms haven't been too bad. This is the last thing I need :(

What concerns me is that he might have a urinary blockage which is an emergency. It happened to Max when he was about 5 years old. If he will eat watered down food see if he urinates. How long since he urinated normally?

I can’t help you with the carbergoline side of things at all but I was wondering if he may have FLUTD which can cause cats to go in and out of the LB and do dribbles of pee. It can be very painful so could possibly have made him vomit and meow loudly.
If he is managing to do dribbles of pees then he’s not completely blocked. Sheba used to get FLUTD and she would get episodes of going in and out of the LB doing tiny pees, sometimes dribbling on the floor. She sometimes went on for a few hours doing this, sometimes shorter, sometimes a day.

If he’s completely blocked he will keep trying to pee. If he is acting normally now maybe monitor but be prepared to go to the ER if he is unable to pee.

I know he went at some point today because I empty is pan every day in the evening. Right before all of this, I emptied it and there was his usual large clump in his box. Not quite as much as normal but his numbers were better today.

He definitely did dribble a few times. Then he stopped, came upstairs and is now acting normal. I waited about an hour then I fed him a 1/3 can of his FF. He also came for a treat when I opened the container. He's now sleeping on the couch. He hasn't tried to go back downstairs but I'm not sure when he's actually gone last.

If he’s blocked he will be wanting to keep visiting the LB. I’ve had 2 cats over the years blocked and they will not settle and sleep.
I would monitor him and see how he goes. When you have time google FLUTD and see if he might have that. Often caused by stress.
If you took him down to the LB and put him in it, would he pee for you, do you think?
What do you think @tiffmaxee ?

Seems like a good sign then that he is sleeping. He hasn't been back to the LB in about 2 hours. He was just begging for our food as we ate dinner which is usual for him. The regular vet opens at 7am so I plan on calling asap.

I can't imagine it was nothing. Maybe he ate too fast (which he does sometimes), vomited and the pressure made him think he had to pee. Doubt it though. Still going to take him in.

When Max blocked I came home from work and found him hiding in the bathroom in distress. If he’s sleeping comfortably I would just observe. It’s very painful when they are blocked.

I feel better knowing he peed this afternoon. Just see if he’s in and out a lot and not producing
I'm just hoping he's not completely blocked. But the fact that he's sleeping seems good. No obsessive licking anywhere. I'll see if he tries to pee anymore in the next few hours. It's not like I can't take him at any time if I have to I suppose.

Any chance poor Tigger is constipated? It can also cause vomiting, as can cabergoline in the early days.

Possibly. There was one poop in his pan today but that's normal. Do you think he might have some pee dribbling with that?

He's still snoozing away..seems just fine. Hasn't gone to the pan again yet.

@tiffmaxee @Wendy&Neko @Bron and Sheba (GA)

So this morning he is acting completely normal. Went downstairs and peed. That was the only clump in the box but he didn't cry out or anything. Ate normally, acting normally. I can always go to the ER vet this weekend. Do you think it's safe to wait? He seems fine. Could it be a UTI just not bad yet? I'm unsure of what to do. I feel its safe to wait but I just wanted some validation.

Maybe he is constipated and he just dribbled when he was trying to poop? Ugh.

I do think it’s fine to wait. I’m not concerned about a urinary blockage which can be life threatening and quickly. Do you ever give him pumpkin for constipation? You can get some canned 100% pumpkin, not the pie mix, and add a teaspoon to his food twice a day.

I used to when I initially switched him to wet food, then he got picky and wouldn't eat the food. I'll try to get some in him over the next few hours (he's much less picky now) and see what happens.
