WCR: starting mocha on a new pen today .. these pink numbers stink ... Other then that, nothing new with mocha ...
As far as twix goes, yes, the vet has confirmed in the past that what we are dealing with are rodent ulcers. It was basically done as a visual confirmation, no real testing to determine it, if there is such a thing. But twix has always had allergies and the vet said that relates to the ulcers as well. Twix never had a rodent ulcer until the summer we put her on wet food and now she gets them every few months it seems like. I know there probably isn't a connection between the two, but that's not how my mind works. I feel like the wet cat food kick started the problem. Anyways, each treatment has consisted of a steroid shot and once she had an antibiotic because it was on her upper lip (like this one) and she licked it and licked it until became infected. About three days after her shot the ulcer goes away. I just didn't know if pill form steroids were safer to use? But it sounds like if we have to wean her down, the one time shot might be easier. Getting her steroid shots makes me sick to my stomach ..
