Sadly, Oliver had late stage kidney failure so we had to let him go. I knew in my heart the news at the vet wasn’t going to be good, as I had literally held him for 48 hours and hand fed him for 24. So I had a feeling, but you’re never really prepared are you? We went down to the vet and I held him while it happened. He just curled into my chest andhid his little face against me, just as he hadfor the last 24 hours. Very peaceful. I will miss the bossy man of the house!!! cat_wings>o
Thank you to everyone for your help and friendship over the past year. I don’t know what I would have done without you!

(((Shelley))) I'm so saddened to read this, I had hoped perhaps Oliver was just having a little bad spell with eating and he'd bounce back. You have been through so much with him, since the beginning of your journey, I remember when you first joined and his (and your) scary introduction. My heart goes out to you, caring for these sugar babies of ours we do lovingly, and when the routine just ends, it can leave a big hole. Take care of yourself :bighug::bighug:.

Hoping your fond memories of sweet Oliver keep you company. Fly free sweet Oliver cat_wings>o:rb_icon:

I'm so sorry it was time for Oliver to cross the Rainbow Bridge. And no, you are never really ever prepared to say goodbye. We love our furbabies with all of our hearts and do everything we can for them. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Fly Free Oliver and land softly. You are so loved:rb_icon:

Shelley :bighug::bighug::bighug: From the day you arrived here with Oliver in a symptomatic hypo, I knew there was a deep bond between you two. You did so much for that sweet boy, he knew how much you loved him. Rest in peace sweet Oliver. There is a new star twinking in the sky tonight.

Oh (((Shelley))) Sending many many hugs to you and your family. So sorry it was Ollie's time but he was so lucky to have you as his person ❤️ Fly high, sweet Oliver cat_wings>o

Thank you so much for your kind words. Oliver DID make a dramatic entrance to this group didn’t he? I will miss him.

Thanks Wendy, I was just saying above that he DID make a dramatic entrance didn’t he!? We shared a strong bond after I started caring for him.

Shelly, I remember the day when you first posted here. We all banded together to help you through Ollie's hypo event. You always went above and beyond and it was clear you loved each other so very much. This makes me so sad.

Fly high, sweet one. Look over your mama who loved you so. cat_wings>o

Thank you so much for the kind words. I never would have made it through that hypo without you and the support afterwards kept me sane. Thank you.

I am really upset that this happened to Oliver. I keep thinking about him. It’s terrible that he only made it one year past his diabetes diagnosis. So unfair. This happened to my baby boy too. And he was only ten years old. I hate kidney disease.

I’m sorry for you too. It’s a mean disease. We lost another cat about 15 years ago to it also. Their poor little bodies! I will always have wonderful memories of him. He had quite the personality.

Shelley, I'm so sorry to hear about Oliver! Kidney disease is just awful (we lost a cat to it about 13 years ago). You did am amazing job managing his FD, and I'm really sorry that he had this to deal with as well. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Thank you so much. And, I hope things are going well for Oberon!
