This might be a stupid question, but I'd never even heard of anal glands before I heard about Bella's issues. Do cats normally need them expressed? Or is Bella a special case? How do you know there's an issue with them?
I am very glad to hear the vet visit went well! Bella's looking fantastic so far, bad timing aside.

All cats have them and when they poo they usually express on their own but Bellas left side does not, the glands are used to mark their territoryThis might be a stupid question, but I'd never even heard of anal glands before I heard about Bella's issues. I give Ravan Mcarb before I go out & he lasts from 2-3 hrs before he goes low again.

Really? I wouldn't think it would be that big of a deal but I really don't know. I know they remove the scent glands from pet weasels and skunks.
My Missy had to have hers expressed one time but that was so long ago I don't remember the details.
