I would really like to wake up one morning and see a green instead of a blue. He did have a snackus last night at about 2:00 in the morning and then stayed with me in the bedroom the rest of the night.

WCR: What a fight it was this morning to test angry(2)_cat . I sit on the floor with legs crossed and put Max between my legs and it's usually very easy. This morning he was spinning his head on me when I would grab ahold of his ear and try to get out of between my legs. First time he's done that. We had a little conversation about the fact that if he gives me a green number he won't have to be poked again. Guess I didn't explain it well enough. Need a refresher course on my cat talk I guess. Haven't noticed any LB action yet this morning. He did come out and check out where the kittens eat for any leftover nibbles and also had to check out the drooler's bowl for any leftover scraps there too. After he realized there was nothing out here for him, as I sit here typing this, he went back to the bedroom door scratching to go back in and finish off his brefus.

ETA: Bean's really tired this morning. First forgot to put Max's name in the subject line, then realized I put the wrong date in the subject line too. Guess I need some cawfee.

You might of had a slight rise cuz he was being difficult to test...squirmy kitty! lol Silly stress kitty!

By the way, was your 2am snack actually +8?

You realize the "illegal time" of two hours before shot time doesn't apply? Cuz there's no juice in there! :lol:

If u want, u can try, snack at +9 or +10, not a full blown meal, but little snacks. Same for the evening test.

Near the end of our trial I was even giving him a little wet fud snack (about 1/2 tsp) in the +11 hour!
Extra bonus' were those perfectly time Magical Poops right before test time :lol:
Because ECID, I would suggest a little amount to see how it goes, and make a note of it, you already know food will drop him by +3 cuz he's such a good kitty! Except when he's squirmy! :mrgreen:

Got his normal slide into greens at the +3 test. Mr. P is spitting and sputtering it's way along here.

WCR: This test was difficult too, not as bad as this morning but he's making it clear how he feels about being poked. Still haven't noticed any poo in the box but that's not uncommon for Max. Sometimes he'll only go every other day. He does seem to be drinking a bit more water than usual so I will keep an eye on that.

Ronnie - to answer your questions (which I will note on the ss also), the 2:00 am snackus was actually at +9 and I only gave him about a teaspoon full, if even that. I will try a +11 snackus before his AMBG tomorrow morning and see if maybe that does it and gives me a green number.

BTW - just out of curiosity, I tested Kodak and got a 74 from him so that makes me feel quite a bit better about Max's OTJ Trial numbers that I'm getting.

ETA: For those keeping a close watch on Max's ss, I have put his regular feeding schedule in the "remarks" column on his ss in the row that starts his OTJ Trial. This is pretty much the schedule that we stick to with the occasional treat in between if he's begging for it.

Great! +9 snack is very good! I vote for those all the way!
If you do try one at +11, try about 1/2 tsp..or even 1/4 tsp....it's just a little thought thou - if it doesn't work, u can noodle me all week! lol!
Sometimes it just takes a little tweaking.

But you know some blues is also ok in the beginning of trial,
so he could just be spitting them all out now and hoarding his greens like a squirrels hoards their collection of nuts! :mrgreen:
 
Looking good Max! And Ronnie is right, often as the OTJ trial progresses, the numbers start trending lower, so I wouldn't be overly concerned with those very low blues. That is pretty close to normal numbers anyhow. My kitty did the same and stays around the 80's even now, a year later. So to me Max is looking very very good on his trial.

This is pretty cool every time I think about where Max was a about year ago... wow, just wow!

Thanks for the insight Ronnie and CD - I know everybody keeps telling me that it's completely normal to get these blues so early in the trial but it's still very comforting to hear it. I just want this so badly for him because of all he's been through in just a year. As CD put it, it is very amazing to think of where he was just shy of a year ago and where he is now. This is the kitty that everybody (except for all of you here) had given up on and said there was no saving him. He truly deserves this. But if we don't make it this time, we'll keep pushing on and give it a try again another time. But my fingers are crossed so tightly I can hardly type :mrgreen:

WCR: Well it's pretty hard to get a green BG number when Gizzy decided to chase Max through the house about 15 minutes before his test time. Max was hissing up a storm trying to get away from Gizzy. But in Gizzy's eye's that just meant let's play some more. Little heathen that he is - LOL!! Max has been a little more active today than he was yesterday but still quite lazy. He was playing a little in the living room and laid in the window watching outside for awhile but then wanted back into the bedroom on the electric blanket. I think he'll be really glad when summer is here because he hates the cold.

Well, Bean has to feed the hoomans now. Amazing how the critters always eat first and we eat after they are taken care of.

Well we have green again - high green but still green so I'm pleased.

WCR: He's been very lazy most of the day - somewhat active but mostly just lounging around. However, after his test and his snackus he decided to race through the living room and slide into the kitchen, grab the rug and attack it with all his might. After he decided that he killed the rug, he went racing down the hallway and slid into the hallway rug and proceeded to kill that too bcatrun_gif . DH says he's realized that he's done getting poked for the day so now he can show off.
 
LOL!!! Must be "kill the rug day" cuz we just had an hour of it here too with both kitties!!

I told Shawn, we need to buy their own rugs - so funny the things they get the most joy out of!

Awesome drop again Max kitty!!
 
Moonie likes to drag herself across the carpet, which looks hilarious.. Since we have radiant heat under the floors, the kittehs just like to lounge on them, roll around in all their luxury!!

isn't that interesting? well, my guess is that he knows the test and the shot go together and he's telling you he does NOT need insulin any more. :) great to see!
