Happy Friday!!

I've been sick the last couple days and of course, that's when Binx decides to see better numbers. Happy about it though and I'm feeling better now.

In other news, labs have come back (soon to be in SS) and they're what I'm calling medium. His creatinine levels have come down SLIGHTLY (183 world number), but his Urea (BUN - 12.9 world number) and SDMA (16 world number) have increased. The vet is now noting him at CKD Stage 2. Will spend some time researching this over the weekend, but curious to hear what others have experienced. From what little I know now, I think he could stabilize within stage 2 for some time, but I want to make sure he's getting what he needs to hold steady. At least right now, I know he gets plenty of fluids because I mix every snack with water and he gobbles it up.

The other thing we tested for again was his total T4, which surprised me by increasing again. Now he's basically at the HIGH end of "normal". However, we didn't do a free T4, which is supposed to be more accurate. @Staci & Ivy I'm curious to know if you saw any improvements with Ivy's BG after her hyperthyroidism was diagnosed and then treated. I'm wondering at this point if it's impacting Binx's numbers or high dosage.

Hope those that are facing the cold right now are staying warm! And everyone else, hope your day is going well 😊

Hi Briana, I hope you’re feeling better. Sorry you’ve been sick. There seems to be so much going around 😩

I’m also sorry about Binx’s lab results. I can relate 😩

Yes, since Ivy’s T4 has gone up and she’s hyperthyroid, it makes her kidney values look better.
I’m pretty sure it’s masking the true picture of her kidneys.
Her values were worse before we knew she was hyperthyroid.
Now they look great (I don’t think it’s a coincidence).
She’s probably stage 2 CKD also.
As for her BG, I’m not sure about that. I think it’s better controlled over time since I have a better understanding of what to do with the bg.
I was floundering her first year of being diabetic.
I had no consistent vet care so things were a mess.
If you look at her spreadsheet from 2022 and 2023, it was really high.

She was diagnosed with hypothyroidism 03/24. It’s still not controlled. Really struggling to get T4 in the normal range. (It was 5.3 in early January).

I wish I could do the I131 treatment for her.

I hope Binx stays under the threshold. But if not at least you’re on top of it and are aware of what may be going on.
Keep me posted.
Sending lots of hugs to you and Binx 🫂😻🙏💕💓🍀🍃🍀🍃

Thanks, Staci 🖤 🤗

Appreciate you sharing all your insights. The combo of FD and hyperthyroidism seems a very tricky one, especially when considering the I131 treatment. Also, good to know about the kidney values as well! You do such a great job of keeping on top of all Ivy's numbers and adjusting her treatment, I recall you recently had to switch that up too. She's lucky to have you!

Definitely going to keep monitoring his numbers and maybe do a retest in one month including the free T4, just to be certain. Will keep you posted!

Hugs to Ivy 🤗

I hope you'll feel better soon. And I'm sorry to learn about Binx's lab results. Hopefully you can get some guidance. Seems like Staci already answered some of your questions.
Have a safe weekend and stay warm.

Thanks, Karolina 🤗🤗 Not ideal results but feel better having the information so we can find the answers!

Hope you and the boys are staying warm too 🥶 it’s freezing out there!!
