Yesterday's Condo

Things started off really ugly this morning with that high pink, but we're back in yellow and hoping for a little more of a slide this afternoon. Still on lb watch - no prezzies to report. After he shocked and scared us by refusing dinner last night, I did get a jar and a half of chicken baby food down him, laced with 1/2 teaspoon of fiber powder, and about three hours later he ate another jar with the other half teaspoon of powder. No results. This morning he ate his mini-breakfast with his shot and his full breakfast at +3, a little more slowly than normal, but he got it all after a little plate chasing. I sprinkled about 1/8 of a tsp of powder in it - I didn't want to give him more in case he could taste it and refused to eat. I plan to give him more at +6 in his snack (FF instead of bonito flakes this time). I just spoke to the vet's office, and they said unless he's straining to go, it's nothing to panic about. I haven't been able to catch him in the act, so I don't know if he's straining. I need to up my surveillance, I guess. I made an appointment for tomorrow, which I will cancel if he goes before then. I'm going to get some squash baby food to try, since others have had success with that. I'm also planning to give him another round of subqs this afternoon. He doesn't seem to be drinking as much water, but he is still peeing a lot, so I think he's getting dehydrated again.

Please keep the poo vines coming. :-D

Sending healing vines to all in need and hugs to all the beans. :YMHUG:

I hope Cinco gives you some poo soon. It's always stressful when they don't want to eat. I'm glad you finally got him to eat some baby food last night.

Oh dear, I hope you see poo soon! When I get desperate, (and I panic easier than the vet, so if it's been like 2 days of no poo) I give coconut or canola oil, like a half to full tsp...it usually does the trick when pumpkin or squash doesn't but it does usually take hours to work, usually overnight. Subqs usually help with poos too, I think, at least it seems to with Chyna to have the extra fluids. I'm glad Cinco brought it down to yellow, and I hope that his appy will improve. It's so stressful when you know something is wrong, or the appy is off  Sending hugs to you! :YMHUG:

Re: 1/22 Cinco PMPS 231

Thank you Carla and Rachel.

I gave him the subqs this afternoon and he seemed to perk up - maybe that's why his PMPS was so nice. Paws crossed he stays in that range, or maybe dips into the blues? I didn't give him quite 100 ml, because he was getting grumpy and growled at me when I tried to keep him on the counter. I did get him to eat some baby food with 1/2 teaspoon of coconut oil in it, and I put another 1/2 teaspoon in his supper, which he polished off in two sittings, so maybe we'll see some action by morning. If not, he's off to the vets for some palpitating at 3 pm!

One interesting thing is that he hasn't been giving his trade mark howl for a while, announcing when he was going into his hidey hole, etc. He gave it this evening after dinner. I never thought I'd be happy to hear that, but I was!! :-D

Thank you, Mariko.

We have blue, but still no poo.

Vet appt was moved up to 11:40 am tomorrow due to one vet being out sick. Still hoping for him to make that visit unnecessary! C'mon Cinco, poo please!

Hallelujah!! Cinco left me a large, well-formed present in the litter box!! I never thought I'd be so excited to see cat poo!! What a relief!!

That was way too funny. I feel like I made a big deal about this, but it was really worrying me. I've read that it can be fatal if they don't get that stuff out and I just can't bear the thought of losing him like this after everything we've been through.

Thank you, Mariko. I can now go to bed happy. :-D

Woot woot on poo!! Between watching what goes in our kitties and watching what comes out, it is a full time job!!!

Good job Cinco!! and don't you feel better now :-D
