Blue is still in his own "hospital room" and no poop.
As mentioned yesterday, maybe ask about an enema? I know that when my little ones have been constipated they always feel much better when things 'get going' again. I hope he poops soon. ((((Blue))))

Brat is off to the hospital at my vet. I already miss that little girl. 4 pounds of Brat.
That girl has her paws well and truly wrapped round your heart, Patty. (((Brat))) She must be so tiny!

Fingers and paws crossed for things to go well at the vets today.

I'll ask when she calls about Brat. He just got up and went to the kitchen, and jumped counter to counter!
I gave him some minnows and water. He's back in his "room". I'll keep you posted on the poop watch. :)

@Marje and Gracie -

I see you got tagged twice on this thread so I'm not sure whether you might not have seen this earlier post:

Mogs.

Thanks, Mogs...I overlooked this.

I can’t really tell Patty anything she doesn’t ready know....there is some significant liver issue here. The elevation in the liver values is all pretty high. There can be many reasons and I won’t hazard a guess. Brat is jaundiced, as well, from the reports. I’m not surprised. I wish I could be of more help. I’m assuming Brat is at the vet today for diagnostics. Sending many vines and I hope they are able to figure it out.

Thank you. Brat was hospitalized today and they are trying to treat and stabilize her. I wasn't given a specific diagnosis because of both liver and kidneys being involved. She originally didn't give me much hope. After seeing her a second time she thought she might do better because of her “spunk”. I'm hoping I'll be able to bring her home with a treatment plan. We will see. Thank you for all your help and expertise. :bighug:

Blue got out a couple of little balls and then didn't have the energy to get the big piece out. I ended up taking
him into the vet for an enema.
I just spoke with Dr. Johnson and Brat is on an IV and she's about to start her on an antibiotic. She was
"feisty" this morning and she was pleased with her perky attitude. YAY
I need to be a vet! I already have the pharmacy, and the patients!

You’re welcome. Again, I m not a vet but I’ve dealt with liver and kidney issues in cats. Brat’s kidney value elevations, to me, are not nearly as significant as her liver value elevations. You’ve probably answered this somewhere but is it possible she got into anything....like the plants in the hospital room where Blue is or any other plants? There are very, very few plants that are not toxic to cats. I am a plant lover but went to only silk plants in the house decades ago because of the cats. I’m glad she was perky this morning.

@Marje and Gracie - Thanks for having a look, Marje.
Mogs.

Hi @Marje and Gracie

I have never seen her eat plants. I have seen her eat everything else and I've mentioned it to my vet every appt. She loves eating plastic so I have to be very careful with garbage and grocery bags. She eats cat litter. She licks lava rocks that I have around a large indoor fig ficus tree. I've researched it and pica is the only thing I have found for why she eats these things.

I messaged Jeanne again and she told me I could post so if you'd like to share with anyone else she
gave permission.

Hi Patty,
First let me say THANK YOU for taking the time to contact me. It is so kind of you.:bighug:

As much as I want to say I'm doing fine the truth is I'm struggling. For me the after affects are far worse than the disease itself. Besides having cognitive issues, I have some kind of upper respiratory issue. I'm still on AB's but they seem to just not work for this. I spend at least 5 hrs every morning hacking up thick "whatever this is" while banging my chest to get it up. It is most tiring. I almost fear going to sleep at night knowing whats in store in the morning.

My doctor says its one of the after affects and there is no established timeline when it will subside.. Its a constant battle and I just need to "ride it out" Just how does one get off this "E" ticket ride???
As for how I feel most the day I feel fine and thats when my hand eye skills go south. It is most debilitating. I'm lucky to have Leo, who seems to have 0 after affects  lol but he takes good care of me and is doing most of the house work. Dont know what I would be doing without him. (lol I tell him he just feels guilty for giving me this Christmas gift.)

Bottom line is I have no idea when I will be back. BUT I'M NOT GIVING UP!

Thank you for your caring,:bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Thank you Patty for the update on Jeanne, I just feel awful for her.
I know she won't give up, she's a fighter
Prayers that she recovers soon ♥:bighug::bighug:

Blue is 211 tonight. It's about an hour earlier than I normally check but Mom's show starts at 8 and
I told her I'd come down.

I think you all were correct about the prednisone causing BG to be erratic.

He's feeling much better tonight. I have to watch him because he's jumping everywhere.

I need to be a vet! I already have the pharmacy, and the patients!

This really made me laugh! I know it’s not really funny but I think we have all felt like that at times!
Thank you for the update on Jeanne. Poor girl. It’s a terrible disease and it’s after effects really effect some people badly.
Is she reading her PMs do you know?

I hope Brat does well at the vets.
And I’m glad to hear Blue is feeling better now.

I also wondered about plants. I haven’t had plants or flowers in the house for many years because Sheba found them irresistible and now Harry is the same.

From all I have read there is no advantage to giving it twice a day. It can’t hurt but I dint know that it helps. Do they get the same dose?

All three were put on prednisone. Blue one a day, Brat one a day and Teddy 1/2 twice a day for five days and then taper.

Blue wandered a little away from his room. He also is now having some loose stool. I hope it doesn't get bad.

I PMed her when she first disappeared so have kept a running message with her. I hadn't heard anything in over
a week so got worried. It took her a day to answer but she checks in when she can. She said she's having a hard time
wording her messages because of her cognitive problems from the virus. If you PM her she will eventually answer.
It's been quite awhile since she got sick. She's working on her brain.

Is Blue in any medication for constipation? If so he may no longer need it since the enema.
You should be getting a group discount from your vet!

With multiple sick cats it's a full time job. Might as well get paid for it, right?

Blue is jumping and moving around more. YAY I was getting really worried.
I hate leaving any of my babies overnight in the hospital and recently Blue, Layla and now Brat were hospitalized. Geriatrics :cat::cat::cat:

My cats are used to the plants. Now if I being flowers into the house forget it. The cats love flowers and will immediately start munching.

So glad to hear that Blue's feeling and acting better. :) ((((Blue))))

Fingers and paws crossed Brat will be feeling better soon too. (((Brat)))

Thanks for letting us know how Jeanne is doing. I'm so sorry that she's struggling with long-tail covid. (((Jeanne)))
