Good Morning, Everyone,
After 10 months with the FreeStyleLite meter (new version, using the butterfly strips), we have returned to the ReliOn Micro. The evidence against the FreeStyleLite was just too overwhelming. I'm prepared to see somewhat higher numbers on Rusty's SS, but I must say that I am not disappointed in this morning's AMPS! I believe I have read on the board that the Walmart ReliOn test strips (which are made by Arkray) are just a Walmart branding of the Arkray test strips for the Arkray meters (Arkray GlucoCard 01 Blood Glucose Meter and the Arkray GlucoCard 01 Mini Blood Glucose Meter, which, as far as I can tell, are the same as the Relion Confirm and the Relion Micro, respectively). Can anyone confirm that this info. is correct? If it is, the Arkray strips are very inexpensive if you buy them from American Diabetes Wholesale. In fact, you can get 5 boxes of 50 strips (250 strips) for $69.99.

The last time I bought the strips at Walmart they were $20. a box.
Rusty had a good night and woke us up early with kitty kisses, and then woke us up again with the hairball hack (no hairball yet, however!). He had a good test, breakfast (Wellness turkey), shot, and is chillaxin' on his bed by the radiator. I took Edward to yoga class and told Rusty we would have a game when I got back, but he's still chillaxin'. I'm about to go down and roust him out of his bed!
The ski today was postponed until Friday. We are having a mix of snow, sleet, freezing rain, and rain is expected soon. The temperature went from -17 degrees to +35 degrees in 24 hours!! After this warming, it's supposed to go down into the single digits tonight.
Thanks, everyone, for your help with the meter issue yesterday.
We are continuing to keep all sick kitties, especially Sid, in our thoughts and prayers. Get well!!
