Good evening all,
Oops about not doing a new condo for a few days.

Vines from us here for healing, for appies, for gentleness of time in worry.... in particular for Les and Gussie @Gussie's mom with vetty vines for today's needed visit and upcoming ultrasound next week; for Sébastien @Photorecon and Small Kitty's dental; and for Bron @Bron and Sheba and her tribe with the recent diagnoses.

Brought Azalea to vetty on Friday for her weekly fluids, b12 and recheck. Her mouth is getting drooly gooey again. And her appy is a little off. Yep gums inflamed again. She did well with clavamox after the enucleation surgery with the added benefit that maybe (?) the clavamox hit the mark. Someone ...(Bobbie ? Karen? Tricia? I think in Sebastien's recent post about SK) about doing a course of a/b treatment 7days once a month for 3 months or so for gingivitis. I talked to vetty about trying this bc other a/b (except for penicillin inj after her dental) haven't done much. The herbal mouth wash isn't helping this time either. And no way Jose on any convenia.

Right now Azalea is with Steve watching football. What a duo.

Spunky has a new toy: a Frolicat fox tail toy. At first she was wary from a distance. Then cautiously intrigued, then wham! Then kept staring at it when it went into quiet mode.

Bella and Dancer pal around a lot. Rest assured when one appears the other isn't far behind.

A dusting of snow tonight. Winter returns gently as if to usher in a gentle night and sweet dreams for all. May it be so for all in LL.

With hugs love hearts and thanks,
Sina and Sootie and Tribe.
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Thanks Amber. Haven't fallen down any stairs lately, crossing paws. Always worry when Azalea's mouth infection flares. Spunky eating better lately, no vomiting and no discharge from her ear. I think maybe it's the tiny ear polyp (that we've been keeping an eye on) is causing discomfort because it's way down at bottom of her inner ear. But pain meds are an iffy proposition for Spunky. So have been doing remedies that I hope help with nerve and tissue pain.

How are you doing on this Caturday?:)
:bighug::)

Hi Sina~ So sorry about Azalea's mouth infection. What is causing it? It was not me with the info about the AB on again, off again and I hope that whoever posted will weigh in. I hope that her appy will improve. Sending vines.

We had a little snow here tonight also but, did not deter us from taking mom out to our favorite tavern for a light bite and a couple of cocktails .

Sending vines to you and yours. :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Catching up on sleep since Lincoln has decided to continue his bounce... i was excited to see blue but then he went back up... :(... i wonder if you could include something in Azaleas diet to help with the bacteria?? i know coconut oil has anti-bacterial properties.. i wonder if a little added to her diet would help??? worth a try if anything it would help with inflammation and hairballs

I hope you can get something to help Azalea's mouth. Cute with Spunky and the new toy. I hope her ear isn't bothering her. Sending prayers.

Thanks Bobbie. Was Jill (@Jill & Alex (GA) ) on Small Kitty's condo I think 1/12. Looked back on his condo and found the post.
Tavern for supper with mom sounds like just the ticket especially on a light snowy night.:bighug:

Lincoln: bouncing is for balls not cats!
Amber, we're still not sure what the source is. Of course I'm at the point now that I need a flow chart or a big chalkboard to remember who's had what tests and when in the past year or so.
Azalea's mouth infection started after she recovered from a period of 'silent seizures' about two years ago. It was several months and lots of nursing care before the effects of the 'events' abated.
Homeopathic vet still thinks stems from liver kidney imbalance. Swab culture revealed nothing to hang one's hat on. Been on different remedies, herbs, glandular supports, a/b's etc. subsides and returns. Was sedated a few months ago to do full mouth exam (not cooperative when it flares), had a cleaning bc of alot of plaque, but vety didn't get tissue sample.

She likes ACV most of the time in fud or a tiny bit in her herbal oral rinse. I add coconut oil to fuds once a week but could step it up. AC has suggested colloidal silver (a particular brand) but haven't tried it bc leery of it bc of age and kidneys. I'm open to suggestions!

sounds like you are helping her from every side... and i know the feeling of not knowing which kitty has had what anymore!! Azalea mama bean is doing everything she can for you... time to start amping up your immune system and fighting back too!! hope her mouth gets better soon!:bighug::bighug::bighug:

Thank you Carla! How are you all doing? ❤️❤️
We're doing good. I ordered some homeopathic remedies to try on Furball's ear. Unfortunately, no vets around here know anything about it. I don't see any evidence of a polyp, but my vet is convinced it is coming back. However, she does have a place on her ear that is infected where she seems to have scratched herself. No AB has cleared it up, so I'm hoping the homeopathy will. Other than that, Furball feels good.

Good morning Carla and always great to hear from you, fellow early bird! ❤️❤️.

Maybe the polyp is way down in the ear canal? Spunky's is (per reg vetty) at the bottom of the inner ear.

Which remedies did you opt to try?

Amber, the LL vines must have gotten through to Azalea during the night! This morning she was very happy appy and resumed her cautious but increasingly invigorated re explorations. Nice to see even with gooey drool;)
Have a relaxing Sunday (i think there is such a thing even if it's occasional;))!

Sina - I don't know if it will help, but some months ago, my vet started Murphy on a specific probiotic specifically for dental health called Entero TruBenefits http://vrshealth.com/feline-products/entero-trubenefits/ Murphy had a dental a year ago, and within 2-3 months, his gingivitis came back. He's getting another one in a few weeks, and I hope that this product will help his oral health. It seems to have done good things for his GI tract - you might ask your vet about it

I wanted to try this one, but it is out of stock. I may order it when it gets back in stock to have in case I need it.

Makes sense...add to the arsenal! Ya never know!
Noticed that the liquid you ordered has a little brandy in it for preservative. Better than alcohol and some glycerine. Hope Furball doesn't get tipsy!!!;);)
Who knows...maybe snooze better? An old fashioned doctor I knew years ago suggested a sip of brandy at night for respiratory problems. And a neighbor said he had a nip of brandy every night to ward off infections. He lived to be 99 and never a day in the hospital. So maybe some truth to it after all;):bighug::)

Thank you Carol! And thanks for including the link. I will ask vet about it. They get probiotics anyway but I switch brands around from time to time. But this one for dental health might be just the boost for Azalea (and support for the others). Thanks❤️

I was planning to dilute it with water first to get rid of the brandy. I didn't know if it would hurt her.

Yes makes sense and when, with the diluting with water, let any alcohol-y whiffs dissipate. Doesn't take long (at least as I have found with herbal tinctures and homeopathics that are liquid and have minuscule amounts of alcoholiness.

Hey Carol, ordered the entero today. Vet sez why not try for Azalea. I'm thinking if will benefit the others asvpreventative, why not them too. So hoping it will arrive soon. Thanks again and crossing paws,
Sina

I ordered this to try and clear up the infection: http://www.onlynaturalpet.com/produ...ium=email&utm_campaign=orderdetails2014&nco=N

I also ordered some thuja to have on hand in case I need it.

Hi Carla, looking forward to hearing how the pet essences does with Furball. I might just go ahead and order in case homeopathic vet has run out of next options. Thanks again for all❤️
