Good morning!

I had an epiphany this morning when I did his injection.

When we were at the higher doses I noticed that the needle would be a little heavier when inserting, so I started balancing the plunger with my finger.
It's possible that I am inserting and injecting to quickly, hence leading to a small amount of insulin leaking and that's what I smell.
Now that this occurred to me I can resume the way I did small dosing previously by only holding the needle to insert and then move my finger up to inject. Paws crossed that I'm right.

Have a great day and happy Full Moon!

Wow great insight, Deb!
Hope the adjustment goes well :)
Have a great Friday! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Thanks Kit! I hope my revelation is correct and I do better for him. I have been wracking my brain and losing confidence. Like, how can I "F" this up after 5 years of injecting insulin in cats, it was really eating away at me.

I’ve been challenging my technique past couple weeks too, occasional visible droplets (wetness) at site, slight smell of insulin, sometimes not…. I think I’m withdrawing too quickly but with my little troublemaker I don’t have a very big window of opportunity! I hate that I’m starting to get nervous for shots again as I know he can sense that too. Good luck with your new technique!

Thanks Amy! It is frustrating and its also a psychological game with myself. So far I think we're on the right track.

Its hard because Sly is plump and there's not alot of loose skin on this turkey!!:joyful:
