What is going on with Regs today?And yesterday. His numbers are so high could that be another bounce? But he was only in the low 200 yesterday, I really don't know where the bounce should be coming from!
Minus the numbers he is acting all normal but he left a bit of food in the bowl in the morning but had his lunch like normal. I tested ketones in the urine and they were negative.
Im just freaking out because I want to be at the airport in 24 hours. Really not sure if I should ditch the trip or if I should go
 
Good to hear there were no ketones. What is happening is that Regs needs an increase and his body is getting used to higher numbers. He will be fine with higher numbers for a week. Then you can address to too low a dose problem when you are back. There could be some bounce element. Today is only the 5th cycle since his last blues. Bounces can take up to six cycles to resolve. And the numbers can wobble around in the mean time.

Thank you so much, I hope the trip will go well with Regs. But I absolutely need to work on this numbers and his neuropathy when we are back. But in the time we are gone I so do not want him to get too low.
The only point when I would cancel everything would be in case he leaves even more food in the bowl tonight and in the morning.
 
Hope you have a great trip Britta! It hurt my heart looking at Moonie’s high numbers on the trip but I would have absolutely lost my mind if I was ever worried that she’d go too low.

A week in higher numbers will be just fine. I hope you have a wonderful time with Rob and come back refreshed and re-energized to continue caring for Regs. You can always get more aggressive with his dosing when you’re back, which is what we’re doing now :)

I'm still not convinced I'm going tomorrow though. Regs left some food in the bowl last night and this morning and this is very suspicious to me, maybe I'm just overreacting.
But if I go I need to fight his numbers as soon as we are back, I hate seeing this poor guy being so high all the time and I really hate that he is alone

You know Regs best as his mom - whatever decision you make will be the right one. Keep us posted! :bighug:

I had no time to answer you properly yesterday.

I can imagine how you feel - our hearts ache whenever we have to leave them behind. We love and care about them so much!
But soon you’ll be back, and things will fall into place step by step. When you get back home, you can work on what is needed and adjust the details being present... just like you said.

I hope you can rest, enjoy and be back with fresh energy 💓
And I also hope he will be fine! If it helps, remember how strong and resilient cats are 💓
Regs is a wonderful boy and he will be super happy to see you again - to start a new phase of his treatment, close to you💓

I still hate going (I should be the happiest person, Robs family is awesome, his friends, Disneyland) but I did make the decision to go. I was right on edge tonight but I can't place my life on a complete hold, we have a vet tech that knows what she is doing, I will make sure I am reachable when she is here (goodbye to sleep past 4 am) and it is a good test in case I want to go to Europe in December to see my family.

Regs had a good drop this morning and he slowly finished his bowl. But I think the whole story with loosing one of my babies 3 weeks ago still is sitting on my mind. And the first thing he started with was eating less. So yesterday was a huge red flag for me. And as soon as our sitter is just mentioned sick or weird or unwell I will be on the plane home.

As soon as we are back I promised Regs I will get more forceful with his glucose and start him on Zobaline against the neuropathy :)
