09/06 Blaze PMPS/113 +1/263 +2/304

Can someone help me figure this out?
Blaze's PMPS is lower than usual. I upped his dose to 1U this morning. Is it safe to shoot the same tonight considering his PMPS? He ate very well...BG has been coming down slowly throughout the whole day.

Do you have someone on this board that helps you? My cat has only been diabetic for a little over a year. I don't give advice. I have been told to shoot any number over 50. But that is only if you will be around to monitor your cat and take his BG frequently.

Yes, I have someone but I don't think they are seeing...I am going to go ahead and shoot in 15...I will be around to monitor and I hope I am doing this right. He is reading 113 on a pet meter which is about 73 on a human one...

Ok, looks like numbers are trending up, you've shot similar numbers before, albeit a little while ago. I think you are fine to give 1u, I might suggest getting a +1 to start. Also, I see you've got TR on your SS, can you please confirm you aren't feeding dry food anymore, even for treats?

Yes I feed wet only but this past week I have had trouble getting him to stay still while I give him the shot. He has caught on and he quickly jerks and moves away so I hae been putting 4 pieces of Dr. Elseys chicken in front of him to distract him while I shoot him. So far that's been working

Paola, I'd suggest finding some freeze dried treats like Orijen instead. TR requires that you don't give dry food even as a treat.

I have tried the freeze dry, he doesn't eat them but thinks they are a toy and plays with the pieces. I have tried many different types, tuna, salmon, chicken...he just chases the pieces around

Lol that's kind of cute :). There are pure bites brand also. I always found I could shoot while Maverick's head was in the bowl eating his food. Rarely he'd move away, and I'd just wait until he settled back into eating, then shoot.

Blaze is too smart for his own good...in so many ways. Sometimes I think he is a little bit human lol

I can try all that for sure. His brother Ash loves cooked chicken from Swiss Chalet. The breast. Blaze never tried it so I just need to order in one night and give it a try
 
I will definitely try to shoot him while he is eating as well, I will do that in the morning. Thank you for the suggestion!
 
Before fd, Max never had human food. When he blocked and was ready to come home after surgery they said he needed to eat and pee first. They called me and said he would not eat anything they tried and asked me to bring things he might like. I told them I had no idea. I stopped at the market on my way over there and bought tuna and baby food. When Tiffany was at the ER I had to resort to rare roast beef!
 
Start a new condo today please. I think he needs an increase. I know you can’t test much tomorrow though.
