Last Night:
408 PMPS
314 +4
505 +10

J.D. ate some LC during the day at work yesterday, and he ate LC at home last night. I still syringed his 90ml of cat food into him last night.
He ate some more LC at +9.75 (3:45am) this morning. I only syringed 60ml this morning. We just got back from a walk and he had a perfect poo in all ways.
His weight is 10lbs 12oz, compared to 10lbs 7oz yesterday morning, so I am going to not give him his other 30ml of syringe food, and see how he does.

5 hours of sleep is not enough for this old girl, but I am happy :)

Now, to work on those BGs, J.D.!

I want to see at least a pink when I get home from work.

Re: 08/25 J.D. AMPS HI

Hooray for perfect poo!!!! Work that juice, J.D....let's see some numbers instead of letters. Have a great day, Dyana!

Re: 08/25 J.D. AMPS HI

Hi Dyana. I just posted on my condo something Dr.J wrote about pancreatitis. Have a look when you get a chance. I hope the pred works its magic.

Re: 08/25 J.D. AMPS HI

Glad you got a good poo! Hopefully numbers come down for you. And try to get more sleep....

Re: 08/25 J.D. AMPS HI

Thank you Deb. I will try :)

Elisa, J.D. is not on Pred. I did just go read your condo. It is interesting. I don't know much about those enzymes, so if you hear more, please let me know.

Thanks Amy. I hope for some pink or yellow numbers when I get home. Fingers Crossed.

Re: 08/25 J.D. AMPS HI

Pred "might" be something to consider short term if the pancreatitis doesn't resolve soon. Sorry, I thought you were trying it. What about the other one that I have a mental block with the name, it begins with a b and Stacey used it with Aus? I know I would be afraid of pred due to the diabetes but if a short 10 days or so would calm the pancreas I might consider it. Just a thought. As for the enzymes, they can be difficult to administer and since I don't think JD has epi (right?), I personally don't think I would go that route. Dr. J. suggested I use cell advance 440 but I haven't been able to because the capsules look so big and Max wouldn't touch even baby food when I put it in it. Someone on the list said she gives the whole capsule to her cat but they look so big to me. I worry it might get caught. Opening it up and putting into smaller caps got old after just a week because he wasn't getting even half his dose in a day as it would have taken too many caps.

Re: 08/25 J.D. AMPS HI

How great on the perfect poo and that J.D. ate some for you. I hope you can get more sleep tonight.

UG! on the PMPS, but I put down a can of Fancy Feast Chicken & Liver to share between Ginger and J.D. and J.D. ate most of it. That to me, is so much progress. .....

We just went for our first walk tonight. I talked to the guy I was cat sitting for over the weekend, and now I have to go do my house sitting "chores". Because J.D. ate so much at PMPS, I did not syringe feed him.

:( on the BGs. :) on the eating cat food out of a cat food bowl on his own :thumbup

The other steroid that Elise is referring to is budesonide. It is frequently used to treat IBD and is supposed to have less of a systemic effect than prednisilone. Because it is a steroid, it would likely still affect the BG but perhaps not as much as pred. Hard to say. I would think pred would be a better selection for pancreatitis. You would have to have it compounded because they no longer make prednisilone and that is the form cats need.

So glad he is doing better!!!!
