Re: 8/16 binks +4 481, +4.25 416

Hi

just a little housekeeping...let's make this thread Tuesday's thread...

when you have a chance, go to the first post here, and edit your subject line and then re-submit, to look like this:

08/17 Binks AMPS 381

you can also add in details for this morning in your first post in this thread, or just update by making a reply after the last post in this thread...make sense?because this thread is dated for today (tuesday) it's good to post current day's details so we don't get confused. @-)

this is yesterday's thread if we need to peek back:

That happens sometimes...it is good to recheck when you aren't sure about a reading... There is meter variance and well, these things do happen. So, about the kibble...how much do you give?
It might be a good idea to figure out a low carb treat for Binks....(I love that picture! Beautiful kitty!)
Some of us use freeze-dried chicken by Pure Bites or Halo...or pieces of cooked chicken too.
Good job..hope your computer gets debugged today!

fingers crossed for success! next stop...who's your kitty info on how to update profile...huge appreciation for the help especially last nite when i know there was a busy time with helping on the health board. i was amazed at how you folks rallied the troops in that situation.

we are cautiously optimistic that we had a successful buggie hunt today, so if there's is further fumbling...well.. it'll be me. y'all seem to have a certain cat-like patience, and we gonna do our our utmost to deplete that well as little as possible!

Binks feels laughter is a healing benefit, and he has certainly had dose after dose of it watching his usually utterly confident bean try to assimilate new info. :)

regarding the kibble...he hasn't had anything but wet food since vet switched him to Hill's ID 6/28/2010 (to rule out and intestinal issues) notable exception-he found a six year old milkbone on the floor in my sister's pantry the week we moved into her house which has been empty of all inhabitants but her 2 cats now called the Adoptocats. we then went to Avoderm for 3 wks, then brands posted on Janet & Binky's list. read a post recently where they mentioned they give dry food as a treat after testing, and thought he would dig that. Gave him 5 kibbles from the "Adoptocats" supply...

side note: the Adoptocats were fed daily and had regular litterbox patrol...but their care fell on my 80 yr old mother when my sis returned to Nursing home on a permanent basis...so they were truly starved for affection, so much so that they perceive all the extra attention Binks gets i.e. frequent ear fondling so intense that he bleeds from the joy, and that little extra he gets every am/pm, could it be Botox in that needle??...as enviable. :)

Pat, you typed the magic word...binks never really liked much of anything treatwise...oddly not a heavy eater for a previously chunky-monkey, but he does love him some chicken!! wait'll he hears about this!! if you feel some warm fuzzy vibes, that will be the psychic waves of his adoration when he gets his 1st small portion of "test reward-chicken"

Here is link to the freeze-dried chicken from the place I order it from. You might find it locally too.

It is pretty dry so you have to break it up...I sprinkle it on top of their food. Well, I could kick myself for starting that cause they really must have it now. There are other brands too...halo and Pure Bites. They say they are for dogs so don't show the picture of the drooler to Binks, but it is only one ingredient, chicken, and a lot of kitties really love them.
But cooked chicken pieces make a great snack or treat if you have some around.

Any BG updates?

Re: 08/18 Binks amps 381

The B manx seems to be feeling quite chipper today...it could be the chicken treats his Grandbean prepared to reward his patience during ear-pokies. Grandbean was a home economics teacher for 16 yrs...

Binks mommie, i'm not on Lantus but was with you back on health. So happy you are here now and well on your way to making progress with Binks. I just know you'll do very well here.
