Ondansetron can be dosed 0.5-1.0 mg/kg of cat up to 4 times per day. At 11.5 lbs he is a little over 5 kgs. So he could get 2-4 mg up to 4 times per day.

Remind me, is the vet assuming he has IBD or small cell lymphoma? I don't think he's had a biopsy, right? Treatments for the two conditions are different. IBD may been pred for life, SCL you might need it for 6 months or until the cat goes into remission. Chlorambucil is usually reserved for SCL or really bad cases of IBD. And yes, taper could have been too quick. Discuss with your vet.

Is he still getting psyllium husk and s. boulardii?

We don't know. He hasn't had a biopsy.

Should he not be on Chlorambucil? He had a script from the ER hospital for Budesonide, but our vet said it was a really big dose. I couldn't get the compounding pharmacy to pause the order while I figured it out with the Vet that prescribed it. It just got canceled. It was 2 mg on the Budesonide. I couldn't get a vet to talk to me and then they all just started prescribing stuff that didn't make sense without me being able to talk to them about it. I'm so frustrated.

I emailed the Vet. Haven't heard back yet.

Yes! I think the taper was too fast. I understand why they did it, they gambled that he could be off the Prednisolone before it messed up his remission. Unfortunately, it hasn't worked the way anyone wanted. This every other day dose doesn't seem to be enough to keep the inflammation down. The psyllium husk and S. Boulardii have definitely been helping. 👍 👍

Without a certain diagnosis, I'd be reluctant on chlorambucil. It is a chemo drug and as a result carcinogenic. Meaning I wouldn't give it if I didn't need to. Neko got 1 mg of budesonide. 2 is big. I ended up getting it compounded as a liquid, so it was easy to taper down the dose.
