J.D. slept with me most of the night.

This long three day weekend, I can give him bupe every eight hours, so that will help.

This morning, he was laying around a lot, even out on the wet (from rain) deck. I gave him his Pepcid at AMPS. At +0.5, I offered him some MC FF Medleys and he hungrily ate several bites and then had some cat treats after that. I know it doesn't sound right to give MC and treats when the cat is high, but any sign of eating cat food (no matter what kind) on his own, is welcome, when he eats a little and is done for the day and you have to syringe feed the rest of the day and night.

We went for a walk, and he is walking a little faster.

I got a pee sample in a sterile container that I picked up at the vet's yesterday.
In an hour, we go to the vet to have the vet check get a blood draw for hematology? tests (to check his RBCs and WBCs, etc.) and to drop off the urine sample.
I am considering having them do the whole blood work again, including the blood chemistry? (to check his creatinine and BUN, and phophorus, etc.).

After the bit of MC, I syringed 10ml of Authority Beef and gave him his ondansetron and cerenia. I need to go syringe some more to him now.

I hope that J.D. gives you a nice surf today in better #s. You're right... whatever you can get him to eat is always a good thing, even if it's a bit high in carbs. Hang in there, Dyana. You're doing a wonderful job with him, and you know it. :YMHUG:

If J.D. is willing to eat on his own, I'd let him eat whatever he wants. It's good he is eating some on his own. Sending good vetty vines for today. :YMHUG: :YMHUG:

Dian, I think it's because of pancreatitis as he had a fasted Spec fPL of 12.4 on July 7th and then a non-fasted Spec fPL of 50 on July 21st. It could be from low RBCs (see his spreadsheet for his latest labs under the tab called Total Health Plus).

He has eaten a few bites of MC a few times today, and then been syringed 10ml of Authority Beef four times, so far, today.

He has had 4? walks, so far.

He only pooed 1 little (less than 1 inch) stool, yesterday (he is on 1/4 tsp. Miralax BID). He had a positive test for Occult Blood in his stool on the 21st (the reason I went to the vet on the 21st, not for the Spec fPL (that's why he wasn't fasted :roll: )). All his vets (his regular vet, his acupuncture vet, and the ER Vet (on the 24th) say the positive test is not worrying???. I was going to get another Occult Blood stool sample tested again today (but I talked to his regular vet yesterday and she agreed that that test could be a waste of money, so we did a urinalisys instead), and he gave me no samples except for that little teeny bit that I threw away yesterday, until on the way home from the vet in his carrier, this morning, he gave me a perfect poo Yay! ;-)

He has his regular Saturday acupuncture vet appointment at +6.5, today.
On Monday he has an initial consult with an IM vet that we have never met before and I am hoping he is good.

Right now, any interest he shows or eating he does on his own, whether MC, HC, cat treats, or kibble, is good in my book.

Time for another syringe feeding in a few minutes.

At +4.5, he ate a little MC, and then I had my warmed up container of blended Authority Beef and J.D. and I were sitting on the couch and I was about to put the syringe in to draw up a syringe full of the food and J.D. showed interest in the opened container, so I offered it to him and he licked up a bunch of it. I think it might have been more than a syringe full YAY!
He ate some cat treats after that.

At +5, I offered him some MC, some cat treats, and some of the blended food and it was no go, so I just syringed another 10ml.

I probably should have given him a bath, but we have to leave in 10 minutes now, for his acupuncture appointment.

I'll syringe his Miralax in water, and then we'll be on the way.

i hope he feels nice and loosey goosey after his acupuncture appt. :-D nice to see him coming down into yellow land today. with the acupuncture, he might even get into normal numbers! fingers crossed for you.

Now THAT is a slide! Nice to see lower numbers, but slow down a little J.D.!

I buy SEB in the bulk herb section at our local health food store too, but $57 a pound??? I think i paid about $5 for a quarter pound, organic and no additives. Which reminds me, I need to mix up more today.

Have you considered trying raw food for J.D.? The NV Instincts chicken is only 116mg phosphorus per 100 kcal, 1% carbs and 65 calories an ounce. That's nearly twice the calories as canned food , so you don't need to get him to eat as much. both PetSmart and Petco are carrying it now.

Another thing that I thnk has helped Tess's appy is that I started putting all her supplements in pumpkin and syringing that separately. She wasn't liking all the extras added to her fuds and she doesn't like the pumpkin anyway so no aversion consideration there and it is good for poop! ;-)

How wonderful that JD voluntarily ate so much! You must have been thrilled. Hopefully it's a sign he's starting to feel better. I hope the acupuncture helps.

That was quite a drop at +3.5. I hope he surfs and doesn't end up bouncing.

J.D. was extra lazy at the acupuncture vet. The assistant said he looked brighter today, and I said "really?".
The vet said his back was cold and said that next week she is scheduling us for an hour and is going to show me how to use ...I thought she said... Moxa sticks, which I think are these. She said they will help to help to heat his back and help with kidneys and what ever else she said that I don't remember.

I guess I should buy some, so I don't have to buy them from her. She said the hard part about them is putting them out after you're done (you light them, and I think she said they smoke, and she said they smell just like marajuana sp? :?

Ginger has been in J.D.'s carrier since we got home.

I opened a can of Weruva On The Cat Wok when we got home, since J.D. went to a cat bowl, sniffed, and walked on.
He has been laying lazily since we got home from acupuncture, but when I put the opened can next to him, he got up and licked at the top of it for quite some time.
I just put it through the blender, and hopefully, he will like it again. It is shreds and my cats don't really like shreds.

I'm going to let J.D. rest for a while, and then take the kitties out for a walk a bit later.

Oh, and the acupuncture vet checked his anal glands and they were clean. She has no idea why he pulls his tail in.

He had gained a little weight since last Saturday and his lungs and heart sound good (just the very slight murmur).


I really need to do some house cleaning, and go out to try to find that SEB stuff.

I also buy the pure SEB powder in bulk at a local health food store. You only need a tiny bit and it usually costs me a couple bucks.

I hope you find it. Sending healing vines for JD. I'm glad the acupuncture appt went well.

J.D. and I had a really good nap from +11 to PMPS. He's still napping. I would like to join him :oops:
The one health food store I was thinking of going to is closed now, but there is another one open until 9:00 tonight.

I'm going to check them out.
