Yesterday's Condo

Last Night:

J.D. laid with me on the couch on his right side and when I put him on the ground, his right hind leg was all funky again. I think I will have to lay on the other end of the couch, so he sleeps on his left side and see how he does.
At midnight, when I got up to go to bed, I was looking around for him and then I smelled him. He had diarrhea, not as bad as last time, but still stinky, so he got 1 Flagyl.

This morning, at AMPS he ate hungrily the FF Whitefish & Tuna.
I gave him another Flagyl just a bit ago. I need to try to syringe some food into him, and then get to work.

I hope everyone has a good day. Please include J.D. in your feel better and eat better vines.

Come on down JD. Poor guy. I'm glad you got the flagyl. That stuff works wonders for Tarragon when he has diarrhea. I just keep it on hand. Have a great day Dyana!

Poor J.D....I hope the Flagyl helps quickly, and the p-titis settles quickly, too. Trix had really stinky diarrhea when she at the peak of her flare...never smelled anything like it before.

I'm glad he hungrily ate, though!! I hope his appy continues to pick up.

J.D. is still in our prayers!!

i never tried Flagyl - our vet always gave Metronidazole. If you want to try something new, you might ask for that. it sure healed punkin's gut when he had problems. i thought it was fairly miraculous.

Julie, that is metronizadole is flagyl.

Hopefully he's eating well today.

Friskies had a sale last night too, so besides the Special Diet Turkey & Giblets, I also picked up some new (unknown, but I'm sure high carb content) flavors. When I left this morning, the kitties were munching on Friskies Savory Sensations Turkey & Giblets in Garden Sauce or something like that.

What dose do you give and how often? My vet said that I can give it as needed. It works great to stop the diarrhea. At one time I was told to give two 50mg? (tiny) pills BID for like a week. Because it works so quickly, I have asked the vet a couple of times if I can just give it as needed (for a dose or two or three) instead of for a whole week, as the last thing I need (J.D. needs) is constipation.
The last vet I asked agreed that I could dose it as needed, and then said or maybe you could give him one pill instead of two pills BID.
So, last night, I only gave him one pill, and this morning I gave him one pill.

I called around to try to find rabbit meat, and none of the grocery stores around here have it. I know Ginger keeps trying to deliver the goods, and she must be confused as to why I am not cooking what she is donating up for her.

My vet told me to give the flagyl until back to normal and not to be surprised if he didn't poop for a day. It is a drug you want to give on the lower side and it has a wide dosing range.

I will try to keep giving the half dose (one pill) BID to him, and hope that he poos. If he stops pooing for more than a day, I really need to stop the Flagyl thought, I think :roll:
I just renewed my prescription for it, so will have plenty on hand.

Poor J.D. He is really having a tough time. Sending lots of good appy, good tummy and good poo vines for him and hugs for his worried bean. :YMHUG: :YMHUG:

Ugg!

I gave J.D. a drop of R at PMPS, and another drop of R at +1. I also gave him 1/4 cypro at PMPS, and another 1/4 cypro at +1. He has eaten some food. :YMSIGH: He ate some FF Chunky Turkey with FF Dry on top at +1.5 and a little more just now at +2.
He has also enjoyed some cat treats.

I did come home to a normal poo, but I did give him another 1 pill of Flagyl tonight. The Orbax was finished yesterday, which is nice.

I was so hot with the frustration that I turned my air conditioner down to 62. It only made it to 69 before I turned it up again.

I wonder if J.D. came down too fast today.
