Blackie's doing great. Her weight this morning is 11.56 lbs., which means that she's gone up 0.06 lbs. since the last weigh-in. IF she doesn't go down on her own, I may have to consider doing 1 more food adjustment to bring her down to 11.50 lbs. Otherwise, she's got a dose increase to 3.25u from 3.25u skinny. Her PS #s are coming down, and the +1 #s are almost below 100.

Again, we had storms last night, which killed the power at 8:23 p.m. I was on the phone to the electric company at 8:24 p.m. due to the fact that we have a neighbor who's on a pacemaker, which is monitored by an electric-run sensor to relay information back to the medical team, and I have insulin in the fridge. I'm sure that there are other medical issued folks around here, too. Thankfully, they got it back up and running in about 1 hour's time. The last time, which was on Saturday, it took 3 hours. This is very unusual for us to get rain this time of year. Normally, we're hot, and getting drier by the day. I'm not knocking the rain by any means. We need it. The lake we get our drinking water from is dropping. Last year, it dropped down to about 12+ feet. We don't water our lawn as we're in a rural part of the county, mainly in the country. My concern is the pasture where my horse is. I haven't had to put out any hay as of yet this year (knocking on wood). We're due to get yet more rain today, and then it'll start drying out, and heating up after today. Oh joy. When does fall start again...?

Hope everyone who was in the path of these storms recently stays safe.

MY WISH: For God to help heal the broken hearts of those who lost a beloved pet and/or human... For God to help those ailing make a full and speedy recovery... For everyone to have great #s... For everyone to be OTJ.

So sorry for the storm & the blackout. Luckily the insulin is not affected. I am thinking if it is possible to prepare an ice pack in the freezer in case there is an electic issue, we can use it to keep the insulin in a cool condition.
Lovely green for Blackie! Surf Blackie!

I have those small gel packs that I have saved for just this purpose. Thankfully, and as long as I don't open the fridge door, they remain cool. I have a meat thermometer in the fridge in a jar, and I always check the temperature on a daily basis. Our fridge is leaking condensation so I need to monitor it to make sure it stays at a certain temperature. Thank you, though.

Morning Angela. What a nice start for Blackie - she always has such great numbers.

Sorry for all the storms, and power outages. That must be difficult. It seems that they do an OK job on getting it restored, but it does make it tough on those that are dependent upon consistent power. Such weather so many people are having... and here we sit with a nice consistent 65/70.. I'll send you some..

Hi guys .. blackie is looking good in green today! Nice job on monitoring her weight .. so sorry to hear about the storms you guys are getting, and losing power just plain down stinks, but especially when we have insulin or pacemakers to worry about! When you get tired of the rain, send it up here to MI, we definitely need it! have a great day guys!
