Mister bounced sometime between his +7 and AMPS, but seems to be coming back down now. Since his larger depot is draining (this will be 4 cycles on new dose) I’m excited to see what his numbers will be like tonight. I could have let him drop lower last night, part of me feels a little guilty for carbing him so much, but I fed him A LOT of HC + honey so at the same time I’m glad I did because he was aiming for another lime. He surfed in the 130s and I got 4 whole hours of uninterrupted sleep 🥳😆

I bought a new pet brush and started brushing him and Calliope. I brush my dogs every day and thought why am I not brushing the cats? Calliope has really thick fur and I was SHOCKED at how much came off of her. I bet she feels so much better. She’s usually a skittish cat who doesn’t like to be handled but she absolutely loved being brushed. She kept turning her body so I could get the other side, it was so cute. I noticed some dandruff in her undercoat that isn’t visible from the top, so I hope by daily brushing and using the egg yolk powder I can get that to go away.
Mister’s coat has improved tremendously too. I wish I had before and after pictures.

I wish I could convince Ivy to enjoy a good brushing but she hates it. I have to sneak in a few brushes her and they’re before she growls at me 🤦‍♀️

Mister is the same way. He gets the airplane ears and gives a death stare to the brush and I know it’s time to back away 😆

Aww I'm sorry she won't let you brush her. I understand that frustration, I had a long-haired cat named Oliver who hated a brush and used to get mats too. It got worse the older he got.

Mister used to get them on his back right above his tail and he wouldn't let me comb them out so I used to cut them down and then break them apart with my fingers. He had so much dandruff. That was an early sign of FD that I missed. He was too overweight to groom himself back there.

Try a Kong Zoom Groom brush. Civvie goes nuts over it. The rubber tips must feel like a massage. It removes a lot of loose fur too.

Will check this out!! Thank you. I've just been using the brush I use on my dogs so I've wanted to get the cats their own.

I don't know what's going on with Mister's BG tonight. Maybe he is doing that thing he does sometimes where he starts to come down from a bounce, only to come right back up. Maybe this dose is too low for him. Maybe I made a stupid mistake by wrongly predicting he was breaking his bounce and would drop a lot after his shot again like last night and added MC to his dinner. I should have waited to see what he was going to do first. Now I don't know what this new dose is even doing because there's multiple variables at play. I'm itching to bring him back up to 4u... but maybe I should wait to see how AMPS cycle plays out first. Ughhhhh

I would look at it as a opportunity to get a full nights rest. He's only on cycle 4 of this dose so he might just need a little more time. Something to chat about with the mods in the morning. Hope you have a good night Elizabeth!

They both look so adorable!! Mister is like “what are you doing mom? I’m hungry” whereas Calliope is trying to communicate her urgent need for food by making her eyes as big as possible and her ears on full airplane mode! 😻😻😻

Calliope’s ears have always looked too big for her tiny head 😆 here is a picture from a few weeks after I first got her. Her brother in the picture is with my aunt now. She was the only black kitten out of a litter of seal points (and her brother had a bobtail, cutest thing I’ve ever seen)

Omg they are SO cute and precious!!! You’re right, her ears look a little too big for her teensy face. It just adds to the cuteness and goofiness. She reminds me a lot of our other cat Tsuki whose ears are like 20 percent of her body. To be fair this got taken at a weird angle but it still makes me laugh!

Omgosh I didn't think I could adore him more but I was wrong. Leroy the Bat Cat! How funny, they even curl toward the back😆

He reminds me so much of my very first cat, I had him for 21 years. We grew up together. I see so much of him in little Leroy🧡
 
Looks like Mister decided to be a lil pancake cat today. I'll second what Sarah said and use this time to sleep 😴 💤

Nestle looooves getting brushed but he loves getting vacuumed even more 🤭😹

And Peanut also has ears that are too big for his small head.
