Last Night:
343 PMPS
266 +9

I thought about giving him some R at PMPS last night, but didn't. So, he got a drop this morning.

I put out 1/2 can (two 1/4 can meals) on one plate and the two kitties shared it for their 1st Breffis.
2nd Breffis was the same, but J.D. ate most of it.

I have to leave to get my car fixed. Hopefully it will only take like a half hour.

Wishing a Good Caturday for everyone, and sending healing vines to all those who need them.

Re: 06/29 J.D. AMPS 438, +2 379, +4 166 and Bear in Complex

The car place said it would be about 30 minutes and it was over an hour when they figured out the part they had in stock wasn't the right part and I'll have to come back next weekend  I ran into an old friend at the auto place, but we didn't talk to each other until he mentioned seeing a bear right around here yesterday afternoon, and he showed me a picture he took. It's a big male bear and it's been in our condo complex  . I would love to see a bear. Everytime I go to take my garbage out, I think if only we had bears, they would love this (with all the left over cat food) :)
Bear sighted in Raritan Township I guess I have to not want bears in my garbage, now  But in happier news they do say in the article "There haven't been any reports of threatening behavior or property damage. Therefore, police said, the state Division of Fish and Wildlife won't remove the bear."

Returning home, I was pulling into my parking place just a bit ago, and I thought I should get J.D. on a leash and take him for a nice walk in a different section of our grassy/wooded areas. I tested him as I walked in the door, and was surprised with the blue +4. Then I thought I would treat him to an expensive can of tuna that I finally found that I think doesn't have soy in it (I don't see it listed in the ingredients), and I went to get his bowl, and he was peeing on the carpet :-| , past the pee pad in front of the litter box. He was standing on the pee pad facing the litter box with his nose about 6 inches from it, and overshooting the pee pad and really peed a lot. Then I thought, I shouldn't treat him right away, because what if he associates (he learns very quickly) the pee outside the box with the tuna.
After cleaning up the pee and soaking the spot with Nature's Miracle, he (and Ginger) got his FF soaked in tuna water with bits of tuna.

I think I'll try taking him outside for a walk now, before it gets too hot outside.

Oh Dyana,

Wow on the bear! Hope if you do see it, it is at a distance :-D

Good idea not rewarding bad LB manners. We still have overshoots about 10% of the time, but that number is so much better than it was, I will not complain
Enjoy your walk~

Interesting link....it said:
"Remember: Never feed bears! It's illegal in New Jersey, and it's dangerous. Anyone who feeds bears could face a penalty of up to $1,000 for each offense."

They look SO cute.

But they are NOT like kitties and I pray that you and your two kits don't ever meet up with one....no matter WHAT you say!

Hi, Dyana
Good thinking about the tuna and peeing!
It's kind of a little bit funny he started shooting pee outside box just as you were opening his favorite tuna

Interesting on the bears. We get them here quite frequently. A couple of years ago Neko sat on our deck and just watched a bear next door cleaning out a garbage can. They get quite habituated to locations with food, and our neighbours had teenagers who just couldn't put fruit scraps in the compost as asked, so their can was on the regular bear route.

Bummer on the car and the pee miss. What a way to start the day. At least you've got a nice blue to compensate.

Re: 06/29 J.D. AMPS 438, +2 379, +4 166, +5.5 85

I didn't read the part about not feeding them. I took J.D. to a grassy woody area that's well shaded and runs along the inside of the fenceline that separates our condo property from the shopping center (the two places they say the bear was spotted). I took my phone with me in case I needed to take a picture, and thought to bring a bag of freeze dried salmon just in case I needed to throw something at a bear. But alas, no bear was spotted.

I had to give him some Frontline Plus afterwards since it was a ticky area we went walking in, and their last dose was almost two months ago. Ginger was first to get the meds, and she was blinking and closing her eyes before I even opened the container and or saw the stuff. Now, either she smelled it or read my mind, and I think it was the latter, because she does that all the time. She hates that med. and used to run from me blinking away when I brought it out. I'm glad it's only 3 times a year. The next and 3rd dose will be mid to late August and that should get them through to the nice cooler and freezing weather that I am so looking forward to :)

I have another errand to run real fast, and then home for laundry and house work :-|

Nice greens for J.D. today. Wow on the bear. I don't think I'd want a bear around. Sorry about the mess with you car. Hopefully they'll really have the part in stock next weekend.
