J.D. seems to have a yucky tummy, as he wasn't all that interested in food last night, until I gave him some cyproheptadine and ondansetron. I did have to clean up what I think was J.D.'s diarrhea. At first I thought it was a hairball from Ginger as it was a pool of food colored fluid with what looked like a formed hairball in the middle. As I was cleaning it (and it was a lot  ) it smelled and looked more like diarrhea, so I am guessing it was J.D.'s because it was on the carpet and Ginger usually has diarrhea in the litter box and hair balls on the carpet.
Last night as I was getting ready to sleep I was wondering if I should give J.D. some buprenorphine as I wasn't sure if his tummy or something didn't hurt, but I did not. He was high in BGs and I didn't know if that was causing him to appear slow and achy. I finally decided I would give him some in the morning if he still acted that way, and I fought with the thought to "stay on top of the pain".
This morning, I gave him some Cerenia, and hope that will help him as it has some pain relief and anti-inflamatory
propertied.
He ate his 1st Breffis fine, and spent some time out on the deck in the early morning.
At +2.5, I whipped up a dish of 1/4 can of FF Chunky Turkey with 1 teaspoon of MC FF Medleys on top and he shared that with Ginger. I think J.D. got most of that dish.
At +3.5, I offered another dish of the MC mix and Ginger got most of that one, but J.D. ate some.
I so don't want to be chasing R bounces. :-| I should have just sat on my hands and waited.
I'm being impatient I guess, and want to get him into lower numbers because I have a 3 day weekend to see what he does during the day time when I'm gone. I gave him a small drop of R last night, by holding the plunger in tight on an empty syringe and inserting it into the vial of R and then releasing it while the needle was still in the vial. I checked twice to see what size drop I was getting and on the third time gave him the drop. I called it a small drop.
This morning, with the 504, I just felt like I should give him some R again, and the syringe I was using did not have much cushion or bounce or spring in it and at least 4 out of the 7 times I put the syringe in and tested the drop size there was no insulin present. I believe he got some R this morning. I called it a teeny drop.
I need to run to the vet to get some Frontline Plus because of the ticks around here.
Ginger hates that stuff, but it is needed.
