Last Night:
388 PMPS
240 +6.5

We did start a new pen last night as the old one was 77 days old and almost empty.
J.D. woke me up on the couch last night and one side of his back end was all wet. It didn't smell like pee, but it was weird. I dried him off with a towel and checked his water fountain and there is no water spilled around it.
He did the same thing this morning, had water on one side of his hind end, so I dried him off.
He might have to have a bath today, if it was pee. I just don't see any pee spots around the house.

The second after I shot his AMPS shot he threw up a lot (not just the little quarter sized bile, but like closer to 1/2 cup) of water. That was strange too. I mixed a can of FF Beef & Liver with water and gave him that for breakfast and he ate a bunch (his normal amount).

Last night he seemed to not be feeling so great, but he could have just been tired or it was his tummy. His poo this morning was formed but a little stinky as the last poos have been. I am not giving him Flagyl yet, but am thinking about it.

The funnels did not arrive, so I have not given him any B vitamins yet. Maybe I could just give him half of one of the 500 mcg methycobalamin capsules in a syringe like I do his probiotics.. Today is his bi-weekly cyanocobalamin injection too.

He seems to be feeling better than he did last night.

I am hoping to go to btb and sleep some more.

Re: 05/24 J.D. AMPS 167, +5 101

J.D. slept with me to keep warm as it is cool today :)

I just got up and could sleep some more, but the neighbors cats need attention. Last night was the first time they all came up to me and got loving. The very shy female orange tabby was actually rubbing herself against my legs and followed me to the door when I left.

J.D. just ate his 2nd Breffis (well part of it anyway).

Question: Should I give him his injection of cyanocobalamin, if I get the funnels today and start him on the methylcobalamin and Jarrow's B-Right?

Re: 05/24 J.D. AMPS 167, +5 101

I hope J.D.'s tummy feels better and he eats for you today. How sweet on the neighbor's kitties being so loving.

Re: 05/24 J.D. AMPS 167, +5 101

i can't answer your questions, dyana, but just wanted to admire JD's numbers today.

has the vomiting stopped? just one time? i hope he's feeling better. not sure what to think about the wet hind end, but it sounds like it might be pee. sending feel better vines to our little buddy. :YMHUG:

Re: 05/24 J.D. AMPS 167, +5 101, +6.75 69

Yes the vomiting stopped. He just came in from drinking from his watering can, and it was like when he sometimes vomits in the morning when his tummy is empty, but it was a whole lot more of wet fluid, not the little itty bit of bile. I was wondering if something was in his watering can, but he went out there and drank some more at +5 and was fine.

There was another time not too long ago, when I found the same one sided wetness on his hind end, and I figured it was him sleeping in pee. It's just that it would have to be a large pool on a tile floor (and I only have tile in my little bathroom and my little kitchen) as it was on a large portion of his side and his tummy too. If he peed on the bathroom tile and then layed right directly in it, I guess that could be it, but twice last night? It's weird.

He just ate his 3rd Breffis. His 1st Breffis was one whole can shared between the two cats, and I usually consider a meal 1/4 can, so he has eaten well today, shared the 1 can, and then had two 1/4 can meals.

The neighbor's cats just stared at me, when I walked in,, again. No lovings. The big fat white cat, who thinks she is a princess allowed me to scratch her and give her a good body rub as she is perpetually shedding and it feels good to her, because she can no longer groom such a big body. And she has some poo on her butt. I do not want to try to give her a butt bath. The beans are supposed to be home on Tuesday, hopefully.
My routine has been to give the fat white princess a body rub and deshedding rub, I give the 2 pound tortie some cat treats, and I bring Ginger's laser toy with me to play with the shy female orange tabby.

He just peed in the litter box.

I think it's way past time to get them out for a walk.

Be back in a bit.

I was gone longer than expected as a bunch of fire trucks and an ambulance came. The next building over (separated by about 30 feet from our building) apparently had a gas leak. We live inside a court yard, so the fire men had to string hoses pretty far from their trucks to the courtyard. They broke the door down and had on tanks and masks, and I was waiting and scared about seeing stretchers, but luckily the people weren't home and left the stove on. The fire men are all out there laughing now.
The neighbor's cats that I am pet sitting are right next to the condo with the gas leak, so I had my purse and J.D.'s carry bag with all his supplies, and both of my cats on leashes, and ready to get my cats in carrier, and go try to stuff the three cats I am pet sitting into the other carrier. But all is well, except for the broken door.

Oh boy Dyana, You had some action, but I am glad that everyone's oK. It sounds like it could be pee. Did he throw up previously and layed on it by accident?

Sending prayers for J.D. to continue to feel better if his tummy was bothering him.

I think if it was throw up, he would be dehydrated and he doesn't seem to be. He is eating again now, and I am going to have to pick the food up so he saves some appetite for dinner.

J.D.'s numbers are great today. They certainly don't seem to be affected by his possible tummy upset. Is this the result of the new pen? Perhaps the old one was too old!

If he didn't smell like pee and was that wet, I would question whether or not it actually was pee on him. It may be a mystery you don't solve. I hope it doesn't happen again.

How scarey on the gas leak, especially since you have the neighbors' kitties to worry about. I'm glad it all turned out okay.

Sending good tummy vines for J.D. Have a great Caturday, Dyana!

I ended up giving him probiotics rather than Flagyl. He did act kind of out of it in the middle of the night last night. If he gets runny poo, I'll give him the Flagyl, but I only give it to him for a few doses, and his poos harden up right away when I give it. My vet says it is okay to give it like this. I was wondering if it was the Flagyl or the probiotics that I give a few hours later that helps him with his tummy. He also got some FortiFlora today.
It seems to be either Miralax to soften his poo, or Flagyl to harden it.

I'm hoping that Marje can weigh in on whether to give the injection of cyanocobalamin or not. I guess I should give it, as I do it to ward off pancreatitis.

Re: 05/24 J.D. PMPS 139

J.D. didn't save his appetite for dinner. He didn't want any. He ate a couple pieces of boiled chicken.
He was sleeping so warm and snuggily on my bed, I just wanted to join him, but it was test and shoot and feed time. Just got to get him to eat, now.

We just had thunder storms, and rain. I am cold. But J.D. didn't mind going out in the rain to drink from his watering can just now.

Re: 05/24 J.D. PMPS 139, +1.5 147

I had to go shopping with my elderly neighbor, and J.D. did eat a little before we left, and now that I'm home, he ate a little bit more. I am now off to my neighbor's to have a beer and then to the neighbor's to take care of their cats, and then to bed. I need to rush all this in somehow.

I sure hope Dyana you will find time to fit it all in.......especially the beer.
Nice numbers for JD today.

J.D had great numbers today, sorry to hear about his upset tummy though, I hope this resolves itself. My Tiger occasionally throws up a tiny amount to foam type bile and lately she has been outside and eats a small amount of grass and promptly throws it up. I told the vet but he didn't think it was anything to worry about. FWIW, regarding the question of urine, I watch this show called My Cat From Hell and I recall seeing the use of a UV light or Black Light, which will detect the presence of cat urine that is not visible to the human eye.

And he waits until bedtime to come back down!

I'm not sure of the answer to your question, Dyana. Cyanocobalamin and methylcobalamin are for two different things but I know his cobalamin test was high. I know you don't want to risk him having another episode of pancreatitis so I think it's important to give the shot.

I'm not sure what your vet knows about it all but if he doesn't know a lot, perhaps he could ask on the VIN (vet info network, I believe).

I hope JD feels better. That's so of about the wet spots on him.
