Do you think we're just going back up the dosing scale? Is this normal for some cats, where the requirements can change?

Just confused. I know ECID, just never experienced this with Luigi (he also was not overweight like Sly is, though).

Thanks,

I know it’s hard, but hang in there Deb! Max goes through phases like that when the numbers just won’t come down. You are doing all that you can. He will eventually come back down, probably when you least expect it. I completely understand how you feel though. :bighug: How is he feeling?

He's fine otherwise. You'd never know his numbers were high except for his insatiable appetite. But he can only eat what he's allowed, so I offer love and petting instead.
His drinking is normal, no big or multiple pees... !

I'm trying to get him to play more, but he is lazy... It's just his style! He's never been into toys, so I get the other 2 cats wilded up and then he'll get up and chase them, I hate to use them as bait, but it's the only way to stimulate Sly... Lol..

I know he gained back a little weight, so I'm sure that is working against him too. I'll keep plugging along though!!

It's hard not to. You are trying so hard, doing everything you can, yet the numbers don't respond.
Glad you got the inquiry out. The hardest thing is not to see the path. Hang in there :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Yeah, these patterns seem less like bounces to me, and I hate it!!

I don't want to have to go back up to 5.5, so I am hoping we can get him down a few ounces in the next couple of weeks, and hold him at 5 the highest. I know he gained weight more than likely due to all the feedings I had to give during drop cycles, but at least he was putting up good numbers. I'm guessing that more insulin is the simple answer, but IDK!!?!

It does look like he needs more juice. Let's see what he does today and tomorrow. A cat's insulin needs can and do change. It's not unusual for cats to go up and down (and up and down) in dosing.
