Last Night:
HI PMPS (TOR)
443 +2.5
340 +5
328 +7

I think I'm going to take J.D. to the vet today, somehow. He wasn't eating that much last night, so I syringed some MaxCal. I woke up at +5 and it looked like projectile vomit on the carpet, but it was clear, I mean I only saw some cat treats in the wet spot.

I checked his blood ketones last night and it showed (or rather flashed) LO which according to the booklet is fine.
He did purr when he came to bed last night and slept cuddled with me, but I didn't sleep much. It seemed when he purrs that his breathing is faster, but when he doesn't purr it's slower. Is that normal?

He woke up groggy this morning, and ate a little food, drank a little water, pooed a little after I took his temperature (102.9) and peed a little (ketones - negative). I counted his breaths while laying down twice, and they were 7 per 15 seconds each time. I'll try to do it again.

I just hope he eats and is okay. I guess I will give him some cypro. I don't even know which vet to go to, my regular vet which isn't that good, or haul him all the way over an hours drive to Red Bank in Tinton Falls.
I just hope he feels better.

Please send vines for J.D. to feel better, and to eat better, today.

Re: 05/01 J.D. AMPS HI - Vines Please

He ate some FF. I gave him 1/4 cerenia. I don't even know if it was J.D. or Ginger that threw up last night. Usually Ginger screams real loud when she throws up, but I was asleep when it happened. J.D. ate 1/2 jar of baby food beef with broth. We went for a short walk. I gave him 1/4 cerenia. He just ate some more FF with EVO kibble on top and it now in his doggy bed washing his face.

I am late for work. I still don't know if I'm taking him to the vet. Maybe, I'll get to come home mid-day to check on him.

Hi Dyana,
I hope J.D. Will be feeling better today. At least he's eating. We are sending lots of vines. Have you decided whether or not to go to the vet? I'm not absolutely sure, but I think that when purring it sounds like breathing is faster in comparison to breathing lightly when sleeping.

Hugs, scritches,

Ella & Rusty

Dyana, you have definitely got my prayers, girl. :YMHUG: And TONS of them. I am also sending tons of healing vines as I wish for J.D. to make a full and speedy recovery. Please update when you can. :YMHUG:

Re: 05/01 J.D. AMPS HI - Vines Please

We got a vet appointment at 1:30pm which is +7.5. It's hard to do, because we are short staffed, but will be done. He did eat some Friskies Tuna right before I left for work.

(((Dyana)))
Sending many many healing vines and eating vines to J.D.

When Lucy is doing relaxy-purring, for example when she's sitting in a nice sunny spot, I think her breathing is normal.
But when she does happy-purring, for example when I brush her with her favorite brush, I think her breathing goes faster.
I'm not sure, but I never thought it strange since purring and breathing sync.
When a cat wants to purr more, he/she can't help but breath more too, no?

I hope all goes well with the vet appointment.
I'm glad he ate some this morning.

Piling on more vines for JD and hoping for an excellent vetty visit. :YMHUG:

Thank you so much for all the vines and well wishes. It means the world to me, and is so appreciated. Hugs!

This computer or board is taking sooooooo long to load or go through the pages.

The vet said J.D. is fine, so I'm a little embarrassed. His temperature was 101.2 and his heart rate was 171 and his breathing and hydration were fine. I told him that I thought J.D. had maybe gotten stressed from the forced assisted feeding the night before, and he said to try not to do that anymore, to just let him eat. I told him that I am gone from 7:30am until 6:00pm and then am up for 2 hours and go to bed, so I don't see him that much or always see him eating. He said to try to separate the two cats by putting Ginger in a bedroom for a day or two  to see how much J.D. actually eats. He showed me how to press on the insides of J.D.'s ears to test the capillary refill (rather than the gums) and said that after I press on his ear, that the color should go from white to pink in about a second or a little longer.
I told him that J.D. has his regularly schedule blood work and urinalysis and blood pressure check in two weeks (on the 12) and that he had just has his last dose of Baytril last night. He said that he thinks I should wait until the "two weeks" to do the blood work, etc., and so we are.

J.D. ate some food when I got home from work. He went out to his watering can. I put some human tuna on top of some left over food from this afternoon along with the water from the can and he ate some of that. He was laying in the bathroom when I got home from work and is now laying near the bathroom in front of his hidey place the bottom of the linen closet and under the ceiling fan. The fan is running full bore as it is hot here.

I am so tired. I was up a lot last night worrying about J.D.

I am going to copy this before hitting the Submit button, and hope it posts.

Then, J.D. and Ginger and I are going out for a walk.

i hope he's eating a little more than you think. is his weight stable?

sending feel better vines to JD and relaxing, sleeping thoughts to you. :YMHUG:
