04/27 Jackson - AMPS 369

I don't see the number of units for last night's or this morning's shot. He's due for an increase again. Unfortunately, with acromegaly you are often chasing after rising nadirs with dose increases. I called it "the dose going stale", meaning it loses the good numbers. He's had plenty of time to find greens again, but it looks like mid blues is where he's at now.

Another thought is doing that R trial again.

He had a nice blue cycle last night. I was lucky I woke up to catch it. 🩵

Greens scare the heck out of me on such a high dose cat. My thinking right now is why would I want greens if he's never going OTJ? Right now, I want to see more blues, and he seems to be doing that. What are your thoughts on raising the dose by 1/2 unit to 13.5 to ease him into more blues? Maybe I need to grow some b@lls again, slowly. He's only had greens once and it was at night. I can't guarantee I'll stay awake or even catch it happening at night time.

Last Saturday when I was going to do the R experiment he had an AMPS of 158 which was too close to green for me to be experimenting with R. But, I did want to know/confirm what hours I could have given some R later in that cycle, and thought at +8 would have worked well.
I can try another R experiment this Saturday coming up in the morning.
Do you think it's possible to maybe halve his depot insulin and give him a unit or 2 of R which is in and out in 4 or 5 hours? That would be cool.

When do we start talking about cabergoline?
