Hello

Noah is doing good lately with glucose but the last 2 days he ate less
And yesterday he had diarreah and vomith
And this morning ha is refusing to eat . Even his favorite snack!!
Shall I inject him anyway or is not safe since he ate zero food ??

Does he have any other treats or toppers you can add to his food to encourage eating? Other than his favourite snack?

Check his sugars again to see if they're rising

Thanks

thanks for you reply ! I did add treats and snacks but he still didn’t eat …. Even the dry treat that he usually love … nothing … and his glucose is quite well regulated in the last 3 days … what shall I do ?

Thanks

no problem. I can't give dosing advise, but maybe re-check sugars to see if they're rising.

as for not eating, and vomiting and diarrhea - perhaps a visit to the vet?

I will visit the vet if he keep not eating in the next days …
But sometimes it happen that they vomit maybe they got a virus or so… I just need to know now if I should give him or not insulin … this is my doubt

The vet is coming home for a visit . Noah didn’t eat nothing - no insulin this morning and now at +5 he is 3.5 of glucose .

the vet will give him fluid she said and some medication. I wonder if tonight I will give him or not the insulin … for now his numbers are stable on the green

Hi Stefania, I'm so sorry. I saw your post earlier and was going to respond but got dragged into something urgent. How is Noah doing? Has he eaten anything? What did the vet say? What medicines did she give?

We have the vet in 1 hour . He didn’t eat nothing yet … no insulin this morning - his glucose is still very low that is good . He look lethargic , but he didn’t have vomith in the last 2 hours … he is sleeping now

Sorry I was not around when you posted. Let us know what the vet says. Ask for cerenia pills or ondansetron for nausea as one shot will only last 24 hours.

When you can please remove the 911 so if you need quick help again we know it’s new. :bighug:

yes my vet gave cerenia injection and I bought cerenia pills for tomorrow . he is 5.7 at +8 of no shoot :)
The vet said is not pancreatitis as he is not dehydrated and he doesn’t react bad when we touch the belly.
He is not vomiting anymore but still not eating , the vet suggest not to give insulin tonight as well if he is not eating … correct ?

Cats hide pain well. Max often appeared not to be in pain with pancreatitis. I’m nit saying Noah has it been something to be aware of. He also was not always dehydrated with it. I would think if barely eating there’s a risk of dehydration and would have wanted fluids given. If he won’t eat but his bg is rising I think I would give a token dose, maybe .25 provided no ketones and skip if low. What does your vet suspect is wrong? Can you syringe feed if needed ? With cerenia given maybe try and see if anything will take him.

2 days ago I gave him raw food and the vet think is that one that cause him stomach problems .. Noah is also drinking so I don’t think he is dehydrated… will keep u posted on how he is doing tonight . For now he is back to normal . Purring . Playing and cuddling

I’m afraid that if I give him the full dose then I don’t have the chance to keep him giving snack as he doesn’t eat much at the moment

If he is eating ok I would give a full dose. It looks like he either has a bug or might be pancreatitis after all. I’d decide based upon how he is feeling. See if purring, playing , and cuddling and of course eating.
