Hello, there are no numbers because I'm not poking Blue's ears. I took him to the vet and I was right in thinking he might have an ear infection which was making him incredibly sensitive to testing. Because he's pretty steady I don't feel worried about not testing for a day or so. He has some antibiotic ear medication and a cleanser. I will do a test on him tomorrow but for right now, he's just being comfortable.

Poor Blue. I hope the infection clears up soon. I want to warn you that most ear meds have steroids in them, so his BG may be higher when you get to test next. Don't be surprised. If it does raise his BG, it will come back down once he's off the meds. Sending prayers. :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Today will be second day of treatment. Thanks for the heads-up re: the medication. I'll be sure to make note as Blue already takes a steroid (Prednisolone, as does Eddie) following and in line with having acromegaly (& surgery, etc.). Both Eddie and Blue have to take Pred in perpetuity. So, I'll start testing again after he's had today's medication. Poor guy. But he's on the mend. Glad I caught it!

Tyler had a brother named Perry but he passed 2 yrs ago from kidney disease.
Boy do I miss him so
Blue was inching towards CKD but things seem to have evened out after his dental (he has zero teeth) and his Weruva low phosphorus food. He doesn’t even drink much water now. But they truly do rule the house (read “me”) and I can’t imagine one without the other. I can appreciate what you mean about Perry. :bighug::bighug:

Cleaned Blue's ears with the wash and applied the medication. I think he's already feeling relief but I can see his ears are still quite sensitive.
