It is depressing that he is still in the reds. All the other kitties on this forum have such nicer numbers.
I am envious.
He just started insulin on December 8th, so just 2 months ago, and we already started on his 3rd pen of Lantus last night.
All I have to report is that he is such a thief.
When he was about 1 year old (so about 11 years ago), he used to get into the kitchen garbage that I kept outside next to the kitchen counter. I forgave him of course, as he was caught as a 4 month old kitten out in the wild, so his mom might have taught him to check out garbage. I had to make room under the kitchen cabinet to store the biggish garbage pail. Eventually, after a few years, I took it out and he hasn't touched it since. Knock On Wood!!
This morning, while I am preparing their meals on the kitchen counter, both cats are standing up on their hind legs and pressing their little bodies against me. Sabrina is sweet and happy and trilling. Jackson is hangry and frantically trying to reach up from the ground to try to snatch the food bowls as I am filling them. I try to block him with my body from jumping up onto the counter at these times as I know what at thief he is from experience. This morning, I had Sabrina's half can in her bowl and reached down to get a whole can for Jackson from the case on the floor and he "in the blink of an eye" jumped up, grabbed Sabrina's 1/2 can of Fancy Feast pate out of her bowl in his mouth, and jumped down with it to splat it on the floor. This isn't the first time he has done this.
How he can hold that huge "bite" of mushy food in his mouth (not just a mouthful, the whole thing) is a wonder.
My Labs tab is now filled out, if anyone wants to look at them.
@Marje and Gracie
I am assuming I will have his labs run again at his appointment on Monday.
