Butters has had four quite flat lantus cycles in a row (in normal numbers). She finally decided to follow the manual on how Lantus works:cat:.

Today, her +3 is higher. I'm thinking it is because she needs to have a BM, though she is acting totally fine. I gave her some miralax this morning. I've had to use it for her lately and I'm not sure why. She never needed it until a couple of weeks ago.

It is what it is, I suppose. I'm trying to figure out what I can do instead but I don't want to rock the boat too much, seeing as she is still such a green cat <big anti-jinx>. I worry anytime I change anything that it could throw off her BG numbers!

Have a great day!

She’s looking really good. Miralax takes a few days to work. Have you see this site?

felineconstipation.org
It's an amazing site! I keep it open in my browser and I've tried some things on it but I keep having to resort to Miralax. I've emailed her naturopath vet hoping she has some ideas next time we talk.

I used Miralax whenever Max was on ondansetron and I think daily for over a year. No side effects.
This is really good to know! Thank you. I was worried it could be an issue if I had to give it to her more regularly, especially with the kidney issue. But on the Feline Constipation site it says Miralax alone isn't hard on the kidneys. It's from not having enough water to go along with it.

I liked this emphasis too!

Have you tried s. boulardii yet? It definitely helped Benji and I think it's helped Jax too (I'm playing with his miralax dose since starting s. boulardii).

Beautiful cycles :cat: Hope you have a wonderful day :bighug:

Is Butters still on any meds? Add bupe to the list of constipating meds.
No. She is off all of her meds. It really kind of started around the time the cardiologist put her on taurine. I haven't found anything definitive on it possibly causing constipation, though.

I haven't yet tried it with butters because her tummy is soooo sensitive, but it is on my list to discuss with the vet:). Thank you so much for mentioning it:bighug:. I'm so glad it has helped Jax! I see the breakfast and dinner concoctions you put together for Jax and feed "in spoonfuls", with the egg yolk, s. boulardii and miralax:joyful:. He is a lucky kitty to have you looking out for him:bighug:.
