02/07 Jasper ambg 267, Per is sick

Yesterday I woke up to find several puke piles in the loft and Per's numbers were in the 130's, and today he has had liquid poo and numbers in the 260's

Appy is good and he's been snuggly, 4 out of the 5 P's are there but he hasn't been playing much today.

I did change his diet to the German FF (Gold Gourmet) because Azy started eating it on his own after being syringe feed for 2 weeks, 1/3 of a can 5 or 6 times a day. and I fed Tuna flavored for the first time on Friday (puke on friday night) and another can last night because Azrael seemed to love it so much.

I'm wondering if the Tuna flavor might have upset his tummy :( I know that you shouldn't feed fish flavors more than once a week (and I never did back in the states).

I wonder if I should give him a few days on his regular (no tuna) diet and see if his numbers come back down or if I should start him back on the juice soon.

It was nice not to keep to a 12/12 schedule for 3 weeks :roll:

(btw, Azy is doing great and LOVES his new canned food diet, he's begging me right now to go feed him again)

oh no - poor Jasper

I'm kinda thinking the same about the change in food, give it a try - hopefully that's all it was.

We'll see what others say on that k?

sounds like the food is a possibility. You're sure he didn't get into anything else in the apartment?

Jojo always says that vomiting = vet visit, so I would probably try changing the food back today, then take him in tomorrow if it's not better.

I'd get him off the tuna and start giving him something easy to digest -- foods he's done well with and/or baby food. I'd see if his numbers improve by tomorrow since I'm assuming you won't be able to get in to the vet until then anyway. If his numbers are trending down, you'll have a better idea of what's going on. I wouldn't hold out too long, though. If Per's pancreas needs some support to get past this, better to respond earlier than later.

Oh no. I wonder if he might have a pancreatitis attack going on? It is probably a good idea to have the vet check it out, and make sure his hydration is good, and see if he has some good meds for nausea and pain, if needed. Feel better soon, (((Jasper))).

Sorry to hear Jasper's not feeling well.
Of course ecid but fish sets Bee off with bouts of pukus & liquipoo every time, so it's off limits now.

Since his diet just changed sounds like that is a good choice to address. Fishy foods never made my kitties sick, but maybe it doesn't agree with him, or maybe it was a bad batch, or maybe it just aggrevated something else going on.

Poor Jasper!

Fingers and paws crossed that it was just the food not agreeing with him.. and he is back to his old antics real soon!

poor little Jasper! I agree that maybe the change in food is what the culprit may be. I'd try going back to your normal food and see what happens,.
Hopefully that is all that's wrong. Sending feel better vines to Jasper and ear tickles to Az and hugs to you!
 
If the only thing changed was the food, I'd change back too.
I guess it may take awhile for the crappy food to be out of system, no?

Hope he is feeling better and back to his old self soon
