I started Molly on the Ondansetron last might, It's 4 mg and I give her 2mg every 12 hours. She was making a purr and a moan noise. I don't know how to explain it, is she in pain? I pick her up and she doesn't make the sound.
She ate her breakfast this morning. I honestly don't know how to deal with us! I've never had to go through this before, and my anxiety isn't good. I want to keep myself busy, but I feel bad if I leave her home by herself. I want to spend as much time with her as I can. DH is away working, so I'm by myself. He kept me strong, now he's gone. My friend texted me for camping season this year. I got emotional, because I know Molly won't be going with us. She loved camping, I really don't know how I'm going to cope. :(

Hello Adrienne. I hope that the ondansetron will help Molly, my cat, Bingley, who has inflammatory bowel disease, which we confirmed with an ultrasound, does that same thing that I think you are describing. He makes a kind of a groaning noise, sometimes when he’s getting ready to eat his food. He is a cat who purrs like crazy, even while eating— but then he makes this groaning noise at the same time — after he’s taken a bite of something and then he stops eating for a minute and acts like he won’t eat — but then he will start eating again. I have no idea what this is.

Taking it one day at a time is very good advice. Remember that you do need to take care of yourself a little bit or you will not be really able to handle things or to take care of Molly without breaking down. Is your husband out of town working for an extended period of time? I understand not wanting to be away from Molly for too long, but maybe you can just get away for shorter bits of time?

Hi Suzanne,
I find she only does it when she's purring. Just started doing that yesterday. I just hope she's not in pain, but she's walking around etc..

I was doing good, but past few days it's been hard on me. DH is away for another 18 days or so. He's about an 8 hour drive away. I think Molly watches for him, which breaks my heart. I guess I could go for a walk or something. I'm okay when I'm at work, because it keeps me busy.

Nice that Molly keeps on eating and had her breakfast this morning. Hope the noise is not because of pain but you're probably giving her something for that. Take care of yourself and enjoy each moment you spend with your sweet girl, one day at a time! :bighug::bighug:

Thank you Lyane, I find the evening and weekends worse. I try my best, but most of the time I just cry.

Adrienne - :bighug::bighug::bighug: Do take one day at a time. Our cats live in the moment, they don't plan ahead. She doesn't understand why your are sad, but probably enjoys the extra cuddles. Just enjoy each of those good days with her. And remember, cats sleep over half the time. It's OK to leave her for a while.
Thanks Wendy, Molly hasn’t pooped ( diarrhea) since yesterday. She tried to poop but nothing, should I be concerned?

With my cats that have had cancer I had to try not to get upset while I was spending time with them. I did have to take time alone to cry and deal with things so I could not be upset around them. It is not easy. Sending prayers. :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:
Oh Carla! How did you get through it? I can’t understand why pets get cancer. What a terrible thing to go through.

She has not passed any stool today? Just make sure she does start having bowel movements soon (like tomorrow) start her on a small 1/8 tsp. Miralax/Restoralax mixed into wet food.

I’m surprised the diarrhea stopped so abruptly. I hope you can find the balance between all these things — the diarrhea- constipation - meds, etc.

This is going to seem really weird after all of the diarrhea that she’s had, but have you ever looked at felineconstipation.org. Just for future reference. Don’t read it tonight.
