Still on the trend of high preshots and good nadirs. I meant to check him last night at +5 but somehow didn't wake up for my alarm. His ears are still irritated and flakey from the mirataz too.

We have a vet visit scheduled this Friday, already anxious! I need to decide what pre-visit gaba dose to give, given that he's now on a regular 30mg BID dose.
Good luck on Friday, sending many good wishes 🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀
Glad he’s having good nadirs still. That’s a good thing for sure.
Do you clean his opposite ear every day to remove the prior dose of Mirataz?
I use witch hazel on a cotton pad to wipe the old med off before applying the new med each day.
So every day, I clean one ear and apply med to the opposite, and then I switch that order the following day. Does that make sense?
It seems to keep Ivy’s ears clean and no residue builds up.
💗🏄‍♂️🌊🐈

Good luck with the vet visit on Friday! I hope Xander’s ears continue to recover nicely ❤️
Thank you! I think I get more nervous for the vet than him. If only someone drugged me before the visit too 🤣

Thank you! I do, I wipe it down with a moist paper towel and then a dry one about an hour before application. Both ears just for good measure. That routine worked since he started using Mirataz back in January so its odd he's just started having this reaction. His ears are flaky and crusty. After applying the mirataz, the ear gets a little pink and itchy and he sheds some large skin flakes. By the next day, its much better but still a little irritated. I feel bad continuing it, but he seems to need it to eat well 😟 We'll see what the vet says, maybe the oral mirtazapine would be fine? I just read about a lot more side effects. Or maybe I can apply something in between doses like coconut oil to keep things hydrated and healing.

Ok good. I figured you had a good system in place! 💓

One dose of gaba for you, and one for him! 😹

Not gonna lie, when I had to take him in for an ultrasound earlier this year, I had to take a little pre vet meds. 😹

Yikes, he was flat from +6 to PMPS. Hopefully he doesn't dive tonight.
Oh I get it!
I keep the Rescue Remedy for humans close by. I sometimes use that and some deep breathing exercises when I get very tired, stressed and worried.
I even found some cbd roller ball thingy at my grocery store that I keep next to my bed. No idea if it works but I like to tell myself it does when I’m freaking out 🤷‍♀️ :bighug: :bighug: :bighug:
