Did you get a ketone reading this morning? I see last night it was .8 so that’s good. If his ketones are holding steady this morning and he is eating and acting all right, then I would stay with 2.5 units for today.Started the new thread! I also updated Big George’s numbers on the spreadsheet but keep falling asleep when coming to post here!
I missed taking his food up to move his shot up this morning so the next is due in around an hour! Do I stay at the 2.5 units?
Excellent!! Love those ketones not going up!Ketones .7
It was 346 so he is eating and giving 2.5I haven’t heard back. Of he is in the 200/ or higher— give 2.5 units
You are doing great!!It was 346 so he is eating and giving 2.5
It’s okay. I just didn’t want to leave you hanging in case something happened and we got cut off.Sorry should have replied back to your message instead of posting separately so it would have been there together! Thank you for your help!
Sorry but I’m out most of the day on Wednesdays and Saturdays starting at 5:30 am.So for tonight, can I ahoot at +11 or should I just do those in the morning until I work back to an earlier time since I have to go work in the office next week? I know all depending on BG of course!
What did you decide? I didn’t see this and my email has stopped working.
I didn’t end up shooting early this morning since I accidentally dozed off and didn’t pick up his food in time…didn’t want to risk that he had eaten something in the 2 hours before! I will grab an 11+ here in like 20 mins to see where he is and post! Thank you!Sorry but I’m out most of the day on Wednesdays and Saturdays starting at 5:30 am.
How early did you shoot this morning? He looks like he’s coming back down so grab a +11 and see where he is. If he’s still dropping, I wouldn’t shoot early but if he’s on the rise, you can.
How far behind your desired shot time are you? I know the vet was doing 6/6 but you aren’t stuck with that. Depends on when you leave for work if you want to get a +2.I didn’t end up shooting early this morning since I accidentally dozed off and didn’t pick up his food in time…didn’t want to risk that he had eaten something in the 2 hours before! I feel like 7/7 is probably better because I rarely get home from work by 6! We are currently 2 hours and 45 mins behind…this morning I gave at 9:45!How far behind your desired shot time are you? Also, don’t want to jeopardize him since I feel like I still don’t know enough from the SS to know if we are doing okay!I feel like 7/7 is probably better because I rarely get home from work by 6! We are currently 2 hours and 45 mins behind…this morning I gave at 9:45!
DoneFirst, go ahead and shoot 2.5u at +11 if you haven’t yet and I’ll respond on the other things shortly.
It’s fine to add water to his food. He might not be drinking if he feels hydrated with what you are giving him. I don’t think you really need to worry about measuring his water right now as long as he’s getting it.He also isn’t drinking any water from his water bowl but I am adding water to some/most of his feedings! Is it okay to do this or do I need to let him drink on his own instead? If I continue to add water to his food, do I need to measure out however much he is supposed to drink in 12/24 hours to make sure he’s getting enough? He is acting and eating fine and going to the bathroom but I just thought I’d ask since it was in one of the other posts!
You’re welcome.Thank you! I appreciate all of you so much!
I got a dose without a bubble! I got new syringes and I don’t know if that is what did it or something or if I did something different that let air in the bottle!I need help? Why does my insulin bottle have bubbles in it? It’s making getting a does hard
You aren’t shooting air into the bottle are you? You shouldn’t do that.I got a dose without a bubble! I got new syringes and I don’t know if that is what did it or something or if I did something different that let air in the bottle!
