The vet doesn't think darbo or supplementation will help because the anemia is acute and is likely from the mass :(

The paranoid part of my brain wonders if the vet is discouraging more treatments because I'm a crazy cat lady who won't accept what will eventually happen. Am I being selfish for trying to keep Leroy instead of PTS?

We are all the “crazy cat lady” here.
I would make a separate post and ask for experience from others. And maybe a post on the CKD group about anemia?

I just went through this same scenario a couple months ago with my civvie. A salivary gland cancer mass, crazy bloodwork. Anemia, low K, sky high neutrophils and white blood count. She had moderate CKD too. Other kidney numbers didn't change much, except BUN.

I'm glad he's eating, that's good news. You are with him, you have to decide if the good Leroy days outnumber the not so good.:bighug:
 
Yeah thinking of you and Leroy, squeem. I still find it unbelievable what you do every day for Leroy, so try not to second guess yourself. I would have completely lost it a long time ago if I were in your shoes. Enjoy each day with your boy
