Good morning ☀️
Been a very busy week here. And yesterday busy entertaining DH’s entire family for Father’s Day
😬☀️😵‍💫

Ivy had a vet appointment on 6/12 and labs done.
Overall pleased with her lab results, she’s holding steady 🙏
T4 went up slightly (3.1), but was done at Antech this time (last time was Idexx) so it could be the reason?
(I will update labs tab today I hope)
Will retest everything in September as well as a panel at VDI labs for B12, Viramin D and Magnesium to see where all that stands.

Ivy was very happy to hear she does not need to see the vet’s office for a little bit. Paw crossed that nothing changes and she can avoid the car ride to that nasty place where they poke and prod her 🤞🍀

Installed a new Libre yesterday, will activate it this morning, paws crossed for a stable start up 🍀🤞😬

Ivy is looking forward to spending the day in the sunshine in her fave chair upstairs today.
She sends kisses to all of her fellow friends 🐈‍⬛🐈🐾💋😽
Below she says “don’t dare touch my burrito” 🌯

She really is thinking that omg😆🌯

I'm glad her appointment went well and she gets a break from the vet's office for awhile.

Should I be getting labs done periodically on Mister? The last ones he had were in April, when he was close to being in DKA and I had him at the emergency. Since my vet is moreso "supportive but hands off" over his care other than calling in his insulin, he has never made mention of any follow up appointments. What do you think?

I hope Ivy enjoys her sun bathing and I hope you get to rest some from your busy week too Staci ❤️

Thanks, Elizabeth, we are both very happy to get a break from the vet since her hyperthyroidism diagnosis in 2024, it’s been a lot of testing and vet visits 😫

You pose a very good question about keeping on top of Mister’s labs and any issues to watch out for.
Maybe Marje will have a suggestion on testing @Marje and Gracie

Andddd her new sensor is being glitchy since she’s having a low cycle. As I’ve mentioned before, when I start a new sensor and she is in a low cycle, it can make the Libre shut down or as it is doing right now, giving me a nine hour warning error.
This has happened before, and the Libre starts up nine hours later.
Of course, what that means is that I will need to poke her manually before giving insulin at her p.m. shot tonight. She will not be happy and that will sit her off from eating, but it’s got to be done to make sure she is safe to have her insulin.

And now we hope that the Libre comes back around 7:30 tonight 🙏🙏🙏🙏
And of course, I have to be on a zoom call today which ends exactly when I need to be getting her dinner and insulin put in front of her, so there will definitely be a little delay because I will have to ear test her first.
Sigh, when it rains it pours 🙅‍♀️😵‍💫😫

Ugh sorry Staci. Hopefully today's rain reverses to extra good luck tomorrow! That's what I tell myself sometimes anyway... that I just got all the bad stuff out of the way for the week!

Good to get an update from you Staci! We've missed you!!
I'm glad Ivy's test results are steady. 😻
I hope that the Libre works itself out and that your schedule slows down and is kinder to you than it has been being.

Should I be getting labs done periodically on Mister?
Even when my babies have been kittens, I’ve always taken them in every six months for an exam and full labs (superchem, cbc, urine) because one year in a cat’s life is not the same as one year in ours (we get annual physicals/labs as humans, right?).

Because labs are just a snapshot on that day, twice a year lets me see if there is a trend. Obviously, if there is a value off that needs to be addressed, we do so and recheck in a month with an abbreviated lab.

I just prefer to be proactive than reactive if I can. As an example, Livia has never had a normal liver ALT. But we know her normal is a bit higher than the lab range (the lab range is just where 80% of cats fall). Sometimes, it’s a tiny bit higher so then I give her a little liver support supplement.

All of that is JMO as a bona fide 🚁 mom but it’s based on past experience.

Thank you! I've always felt a bit uneasy anytime my vet has said "well we got a lab done last year, so we don't need another one for awhile" and I'm thinking but what if something new develops and we don't catch it for a whole year? So that makes sense and I don't blame you. I'm not sure I can afford that right now but when I can go back to work this is something I will keep in mind. Mister's labs looked pretty good in April but I definitely want him re-checked at his next visit. Especially now that he's in better shape than before. I still need to upload those labs to my SS.

Ok I'm out of here, sorry for taking over your condo for a minute Staci! 😆 hopefully this might help someone else too now or in the future!

OH BOY, not the sensor!!! I hope it comes back in time!

Otherwise, very glad the vet and labs went okay and Ivy can have a little break until the next one.

Safe surfing 😻 Hope you get to relax after such a busy day yesterday!

I’m glad Marje was able to give some good advice for everyone to learn 💞
You’re welcome here any time Elizabeth 🥰

Awwww thanks, Mary 🥰
Much appreciated as always 💞

The darned Libre came back after 9 freaking hours tonight. Ivy was not happy with an ear poke at Pmps.
And I was rushing just getting off a zoom call. It was a bit rough 🤨

I’m just glad the Libre is currently working 🙏

Hope you guys have a calm night. We all need one 😻

It’s been one of those days…. thanks, Briana for the support 🥰

I was so happy to read Binx pooped a nice poop 💩 today 💞💞💞

Just popping in, glad her thyroid is 3.1...she's in normal range! Hope the oral meds aren't bothering her--- I see she is using all the colors today- hope she settles soon in a good zone. Sending much love- just popped in to order cat food. Jack is Jack, Abby is not responding to the transdermal methimazole & has lost weight and now Smudge was also diagnosed (I abhor the lack of pet food standards in this country) so another old, cranky, mean cat on transdermal meds----sigh-----anyway, hope you are well. You, Ivy & your family are always in my thoughts and prayers. :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Christine, so nice to see you pop in!
I think of you and your sweet gang so often too!

Paws crossed, Ivy seems ok with the oral methimazole right now 🙏🙏
Jack.....he's just Jack, belly rubs being sent! 🐈‍⬛😻
I am sorry Abby isn't responding to the meds, big bummer🫂
The transdermal didn't seem to cut it for Ivy either.
Sending prayers for Abby! What about the liquid formulation????

Does Smudge have hyperT too?
I hope not! 🙏

Sending lots of love and hugs to all of you! We miss you and love seeing you pop up when you are able :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:❤️❤️❤️❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹💖💖💖💖
