The quest to get Ember tested for acromegaly and IAA continues. I checked with another vet and was quoted $640 for the IGF-1 and $255 for IAA. I found a specialty vet who has an account with MSU and they’re going to get back to me with prices. Hopefully it will be more reasonable.

Right? At those prices I could probably fly her from California to Michigan State University and get her tested in person for less than that.

I emailed these attachments to my vet for the tests and was charged accordingly $98.00 for both ( I think they say $73 and $25). It was the overnight shipping that was $153 added on.

I don't understand why the tests are so crazy expensive here. I'm going to email these to the vet. Thanks for sharing!
