George April 19th - AMPS 165 - Feeding Question

George is a picky eater. He will eat his food, but he only eats it in small bursts. I dont want to leave wet food out for too long due to ants, spoilage and the smell. I mix his pate with warm water to make it more appetising (he seems to prefer it watered down and warm) but still only eats small amounts. He almost didnt eat last night before his PM shot and only ate a little bit and dipped really low (i was able to steer him near 100, I updated my SS to reflect the incident). Are there any cost effective automatic wet feeders? Because im returning to work soon and I want him to eat during the day. Any and all advice is welcome <3

There's info about the Pet Libro here: https://felinediabetes.com/FDMB/thr...libro-polar-wet-food-feeder-read-this.302714/ It's a little pricey but it has a built in cooling feature.

A basic feeder like Catmate or Petsafe is fine. I use the Petsafe 5 compartment one. I bought mine over 10 years ago so it didn't cost as much as it does now. My feeder doesn't have a cooling feature but there is space in the bottom for a mini lunch box type ice pack. I don't use it. Leroy doesn't have a problem with room temperature food. Some people freeze food into portion sizes and put the frozen chunk into the feeder to defrost.

Thank you!! Ill look into getting one for him when I return to work

The Petsafe one makes a loud whirring noise as the feeder rotates. Other feeders that rotate will also make some noise. Some cats learn to associate the noise with food. The Petsafe also has a alarm / chime thing when the food is ready but I have that disabled.
