Well, I am not strong enough to continue TR. The alarm on the libre went off 3 times last night. We are 15 minutes out from his morning shot and he is at 62. I don't mind numbers under 90, truly. When that damn alarm goes off it is anxiety provoking.

Took me so long to type this that we got to shot time and he is at 53. He won't let me ear prick him. Got blood twice and it wasn't enough. Then he ran away. Libre updated to 83 (probably because I stressed him out). Probably the wrong call but I'm going to skip and then give him .5u earlier tonight since it is almost noon.

I can't handle this. I'm sorry Indy.

Hi Jessica! I'm so sorry this is so stressful! It IS stressful for caregivers!
Look at the big picture--his numbers have been consistently good for awhile! You're doing a GREAT job caring for him. He's so lucky to have you.
He'll be fine with the skipped dose.
Are you feeding him LC/MC when he hits those 50s and 60s?? Just wondering if that long stretch in the greens was at all carb influenced.
FWIW, I think he's inching toward the big R.

We can't feed him anything except the smalls because of his IBD and he free feeds. If we try and feed him at set times he ends up throwing up empty tummy. He didn't finish his food last night but then he came back and stole wet food from his siblings' bowls. (Same food, don't worry). He was happy to have his breakfast with fortflora.

I think for my sanity, we need to do reductions when that alarm goes off. So I guess that would be a modified SLGS.

You’re doing great. Try not to be so upset, he’s truly doing beautifully, Jessica 🥰

We do the best we can with what we are able.

For gods sake, I can’t test Ivy all the time and have to rely on a Libre 24/7.
Thank goodness I can wrestle an ear poke if I must, but not all day long. No way.

I got so much pushback when I first showed up for using a Libre you wouldn’t believe it.
But I just keep on doing the best I can with the “spicy” girl I have.
I know my modified protocol isn’t “by the book” but it’s the best I can manage.
Some cats here follow the rules nicely.
Others don’t (like Ivy).

Do the best you can, Indy is a lucky boy that he’s yours 💕❤️😻🫂

He went back to 53 for a bit. Now he is at 80. So, I feel good about the skip.

Indy is a pretty stubborn old man. Hence, the libre. I am so happy that it is a valid option. He is such a good boy and I want what is best for him. I want him to be happy and healthy. I know TR is a better option for remission, but hubby and I both agree that the lows on the sensor are stressful and to earn a reduction it would have to go to LO on the libre which could cause it to crap out.

Thank you for the kind words @Mary & Jude and @Staci & Ivy

Wow! I ALLLLLLLmost said to you earlier, don't be surprised if he doesn't shoot up. I believe I've seen this episode before. So, it's like, when they get down into those lower numbers and you hold them there with that higher dose of insulin, something clicks, and their body/pancreas SEEMS to say, 'okay,' I smell what your steppin' in, and I'm tracking!

Way to go, Indy!!

Well, PMPS - 148 and an hour early. Figured since he didn't get insulin this morning we can shoot that since there is no insulin overlap. Let's see how .5u goes.
