3-31 Leroy +4 214 AMPS 230, leg is saved!

Not bad considering he only had half a dose of insulin yesterday morning and got messed with for the rest of the day. He's pulling the leg behind him but manages to get around. He got bupe and odansetron this morning. He only ate half his breakfast. I took the DIY enclosure off the second litter box so he can use it more easily.

Sweet Leroy, he’s a warrior ❤️
Just an idea, but when Ivy had her broken leg and was in a cast, (kind of reminds me of what Leroy’s leg looks like), she couldn’t really easily get up over the lip of the litter box.
What I ended up doing was, I took a big silicone mat and dumped litter on it and she would “slither” into the makeshift litter box and then slither out, kind of dragging that leg as you were describing.
It was heartbreaking to watch, but it was easier for her to manage in and out of a litter box situation.

We do whatever we need to to get the job done.
Sending you lots of healing vines🍀🍃🍀🍃🍀💕🐈😻🙏

Here was her “box” (mat)

(It pains me to even look at this photo) 😭
I was constantly sweeping the area, but whatever….it worked 😩

Thanks, Staci! He used the second litter box just fine overnight. It's a basic open box that's low. There's no way he can get into the covered litter box in the bathroom. He had enough trouble getting in and out before surgery. I also have pee pads to put down. I covered the bathroom floor with pads as usual but didn't bother with the sink counter or in the kitchen sink since he's not able to get up there as usual... at least I hope he doesn't try :nailbiting:🫣 I assume he'll spend the day mostly on the sofa, only moving to eat or drink and use the litter box.

Guess he stayed on the beach today. I gave another odansetron with dinner just in case. He ate most of his dinner. Then he wandered into the bedroom and tried to get on the bed. Thunk 🫣 He was ok. I put him on the bed. He hasn't moved since but I'm going to have to pick him up and move him to the floor later before he tumbles 2.5 feet to the floor 🫣

These are flat mats with a section under that catches the pee and astro-turf on top. We just rinse them off daily.

Hope his leg gets better soon..

Well he got off the bed on his own just fine 🫣 Doesn't seem to be in any pain. He seems to be handling his leg better than I am. I'm just 🫣🫣 looking at him.

Nvm. He took a tumble trying to get on the sofa  I helped him back on after he had a snack.
