Something really weird happened last night around +7/+8 (3-4am). The Libre alarm woke me up and read 48. Desperate to get some more sleep, I fed him a whole additional can of LC (I wish I hadn't given that much - but he only ate half) and went back to bed. I definitely wasn't in any state to try and do a blood test.

I'm looking at the Libre data this morning, and that whole hour or so is bizarre:

2:59 - 76
3:04 - 85
3:09 - 114
3:14 - 117
3:19 - 106
3:34 - 70
3:39 - 51
3:44 - 48
3:49 - 47
4:01 - 48
4:02 - 49
4:09 - 89
4:14 - 103

And then it gradually climbs for the rest of the cycle.

Those numbers look like a glitch to me, maybe? I don't know. I haven't put the lime on my spreadsheet because I'm not sure I believe it. (My LibreLinkUp app actually shows a big gap between 3:19 and 4:09 - but I got the data from the Libreview site.) It's not an especially big deal in the scheme of things, but I'm sharing the info in case anyone has any insight. @Staci & Ivy @Jessica & Indy

Anyway, here's hoping for a calm Tuesday for all - and safe surfs for all your sweet kitties, friends. ❤️

Some after-work snuggles from yesterday. 💕

If I saw that, I would assume that Indy was laying on it. Because yeah, that is weird.
Yeah, I've been wondering about that. It's not an experience I've really had with the Libre before, but I do think I situated the sensor a little further down his side than usual this last time, so maybe?

I actually don’t think it looks weird at all.
I think he broke that yellow and pink bounce with some gusto.
It looks like he was having a low cycle, because if you notice he started to go down early in the cycle and continued, and then he stayed down lower, and didn’t climb back up until the end of the cycle.
It just looks like he had a low cycle to me.
How are you interpreting it as a weird cycle??

I don't think the cycle itself is weird at all - what I've entered into my spreadsheet makes perfect sense to me. It's the 48 that the Libre gave me out of nowhere around +8/4am, which I didn't put on my spreadsheet because I don't trust it.

In my initial post, I listed every value the Libre recorded (using the Libreview website) from 2:59am to 4:14am to illustrate what I'm finding strange. Gen was in the 60s and 70s for several hours. Then he apparently started going up a little (from 76 to 117 in about 15 minutes), before suddenly dropping like a stone down to 47/48 over the next 30 minutes. At 4:09am he came back up to roughly where he'd been at 3:04am, and resumed his progress upwards.

The data in my spreadsheet makes sense, but I don't know if I should change it/if it's correct. I don't know if I should believe that he did have a very fast drop into the upper 40s around +8, then came back up in no time, or not - that's the part I'm finding weird!

Sometimes I think they bobble up and down a bit. I try not to get too crazy about each data point.
Those who only poke ears for data may have the same odd cycles, but never see it since they aren't poking every hour (or more as we can zoom in with the Libre data).
Maybe try to look at the overall cycle for a trend and decide if it's keeping Gen generally in the area you want him (or way too low and for safety, then you'd reduce).

It's complicated, as you know.

Oh, I know! That's exactly what I usually do. I mostly just stick to paying attention to the numbers at the hourly intervals, which I enter, and the nadir (which I make sure to find specifically because it's not always cleanly at one of those intervals). Sometimes I add a little more context, such as when he's going up and down, blue-green-blue-green, across a couple of hours.

This time, though, when I sat down to update my spreadsheet, the 48 for +8 seemed really off - it made no sense to me with the surrounding numbers - so I looked at the more granular context to see if that explained it.

Mainly, the only reason I'm giving it much attention is that if he actually did drop down to 48, that changes when his nadir was (from +3.5 to +8), which makes a difference to how I'm looking at his cycles and patterns more broadly!

In other words: I've provisionally discarded the 48 at +8 as a Libre error, but I'm not completely confident about that conclusion, and I think in this case it matters a bit?

I understand.
If you look at Ivy’s spreadsheet, you can see sometimes she has a late nadir at +8,9 or 10.
Not all the time but it happens 🤷‍♀️
Sometimes we just don’t know exactly why.
It’s hard when we want answers 😘

Gen has late nadirs fairly often too, it's just that I can't decide if this one was real or a technology-based bug. 😅 But I guess it doesn't really matter. I think I'll go with my gut and say that it was an error, not a real 48. Sorry for chewing your ear off trying to explain my looping thoughts!
