02/21 POST HERE

02/24 his PMPS was below 150 so I opted for NS because even after waiting a few hours he was going down again. Next morning he's back up in 300 range.

Is the 2.25 getting to be too high? His PMPS shot is MAYBE 10 mins early at most, but I wouldn't imagine that would be such a drastic difference?

Considering scheduling a curve for tomorrow (02/27) to see what's up because this is a very tiring back and forth.

Also, it's noted on the SS but I did cut out kibble for his snacks and sticking to only wet food even for between-meal snacks. Sometimes he gets a bite or two of his brother's kibble if he sneaks it (it's low carb) but not often enough. And he'll get maybe 2-3 greenies a day after testing.

(also to note because the dates might seem odd, his shot times are basically midnight and noon, which is why the dating of the post I opted to write as 02/26 despite it technically being the 27th here where I am..)

A dose is too high, when following SLGS, if they go below 90. Which he has not done yet on 2.75. It's nice to see a few blue preshots in there, that's what you'd like to see. You've been at this long enough that you should experiment with shooting the full dose, especially at upper blues. You shot full dose at a 188 on 2/10 AM. You could have tried the full dose with the 162 on 2/14 if you could have gotten at least a before bed test. People following SLGS who have the experience and data to do so, can shoot as low as 90. You could work your way down to that.

With the reduced dose tonight, the depot will drain and tomorrow's data won't be representative of what 2.25 units can do with a full depot. Can you do it the next day? In future, you could try a larger token dose when you feel you need to do one, maybe half dose?

Would he eat treats other than Greenies? They are fairly high in carbs.

We have people all around the world, just report the dates as what makes sense to you.

Yes I'll definitely wait another day in that case. I'm trying to get over the fear of shooting lower blues. It just always happens during the night so I'm just afraid even if I get a "good" number before bed that it might tank. (That's just my anxiety speaking I think)

And yes, Salem will eat pretty much anything. I was giving him freeze-dried salmon treats for a while but they're so expensive. He likes churu as well but those also get up there. Either way I'll keep some lower-carb treats on hand.

I'll stick with the 2.25 first and go from there to see if he needs a reduction/increase again. I don't wanna jump back up to 2.75 immediately I think just because I've gotten a few small numbers throughout his cycles that worried me a bit. I think if I need to try a token again I'll definitely do a half dose instead of the 25%.

Thank you for your insight as always Wendy 😭 I know I repeat myself a lot, I just wanna be sure I'm not throwing him into a hypo overnight.
