Hi there, folks! I hope your kitties are surfing safely today, and that you're generally having an excellent Tuesday.

Getting to work this morning was an adventure; lots of unshoveled sidewalks and mess and transit delays. Unsurprising; apparently we came within spitting distance of two feet of snow (and they're already predicting another storm for next weekend, yeesh).

Gen's doing fine with eating, and I increased his insulin to 1.5u last night. He still seems a bit grumpy and less than at his best, in spite of the meds, poor lad. (On the other hand, I think reducing the mirataz was the right move; he was hungry this morning, but not frantic.) I'm really glad we're finally seeing the vet tomorrow, and that we'll be prepping for surgery at long last. (I'm also very nervous about that! And a little worried about the current forecast of snow all day Sunday into the wee hours of Monday, which could make getting to the appointment tricky. Please, winter, be a little bit kind.)

I have quite a lot to do at work and am really struggling with focus, so I'd better get to it and not hang around here much today. But general best wishes to all!

Wow, I sure dont miss snow and cold. ❄️ Im originally from the Chicago area so very familiar with all this you are going thru. :bighug: Havent lived there since 1989 tho. Im in southern California now where the sun is shining, the skys are 💙 and its a nippy (for here) 58 degrees. It feels a LOT warmer in the sun tho.
I hope the increase goes well for Gen. 🤞

Good luck with the increase Allie and Gen!
I hope it’s a great dose and he has very safe surfs 🏄‍♂️💓

I hope the vet appointment brings you some answers and that you will feel comfortable with the dental next week ❤️‍🩹
Your vey sounds very good and seems to be good at explaining procedures to you.

We can only hope the snow melts someday. But it sure is cold for now ❄️❄️❄️
Stay warm! 💕🥰

Sounds like a lot going on, but a bunch in positive steps for Gen! The surgery can be scary, but paws crossed everything goes well and then he’ll come out stronger than ever! And it’s great he’s holding his appetite as you reduce down.

Hope the weather stays as calm as possible for you and good luck with the increase! 🤗

Aw, I actually like the snow, I just don't like having to go to work in it! (Which is especially the case when I have a job that could easily be done fully remote, or at least much more flexibly, if not for some restrictive policies and an unsympathetic boss.) That said, you seem to be trying to torture me. 😝 I will be longing for that kind of weather long before we actually see it!

Good luck with the increase Allie and Gen!

She is. She treats me like an intellectual equal and will answer any questions I have to the best of her ability (which is usually quite good). I'll probably be anxious regardless; that's just me. But talking to her nearly always helps quite a bit.

And he seems to be having a nice surf today! Hours of blue with a very brief green nadir. I'm sure he'll have a good bounce, now, but it's still nice to see.

That said, you seem to be trying to torture me. 😝
No torturing intended. 🙃 The bad thing about here is when it does get "cold" the temperature in the house isnt much different as none of the houses out here have insulation. It took me a long time to get used to that. I have heat, but it warms up the upstairs, not downstairs. I wear a heavy sweater inside the house for several months of the year. I hate to be cold!!

Oh wow, the lack of insulation would not have occurred to me! Though I would take wearing a sweater for months over what I have ... a hundred-year-old apartment building without individual thermostats where the heat is always way too high for me (it was 80 degrees all weekend and I kept having to crack windows open while we had single-digit cold outside because I couldn't sleep otherwise). It's all a bit ridiculous.

Good luck with the increase. I hope everything comes together for you and Gen as you prepare for his surgery.
Thank you, Mary. ❤️
