1-2 Leroy AMPS 273 PMPS 219

He's never bothered the wounds. It's whatever he sits on that irritates the skin. His skin is just super thin and slow to heal if at all. Tempted to buy this to see if it helps any, if Leroy can keep it on his legs: Cat Hock Socks

These are cuter: https://www.etsy.com/listing/1392226735/cat-hock-socks Pricey with shipping but anything for Leroy.

Leroy has so many allergies that I can't give him extra stuff :blackeye: Omega 3s are typically derived from seafood which Leroy has allergies to. He can only eat rabbit but commercial bone broth contains extra stuff. I don't eat rabbit and have no freezer space to store shredded rabbit meat after the broth is done.

Ahh, for some reason I was picturing a front leg. That makes sense. I feel like I remember it being mentioned that he was licking it right after the bandage was removed, which is why I was thinking he was picking at it.

Those Etsy ones are REALLY cute lol

The Etsy socks are ordered :) I chose a solid blue color, nothing fancy. He might have licked the hock after the surgical bandage was removed but I couldn't blame him. It was probably itchy under the bandage. I know my elbow was itchy under the bandage and it drove me 😵‍💫 until I was allowed to take off the Tegaderm and wash my elbow.

I wonder if Derma GeL might be an option for you? I used it several years ago for my dog and recently for my civvie who had some open neck wounds. It’s a hydrogel that provides a moist environment and apparently helps to cleanse and debride necrotic tissue. It can work with and without bandage, and even if he licks it, it’s safe.

I'll ask the vet :) He likely won't have any issue with it.

Edit: The product doesn't seem available anymore? It's out of stock or discontinued at various US based web sites.

That's odd; I ordered it from Amazon just a few weeks ago, and it seems to still be available there. There are a few products with similar names ... I think this is the one @Christie & Maverick is referring to.

Yes, that’s the one, although my original supply was from the vet years ago. Before Amazon :p
As I recall, I was in a panicky rush when I placed that order. 😅 As with so many orders for cat-related products in the last six weeks or so. I loathe Amazon and try not to use them, but they've sure made a few bucks off my anxiety for Gen!

Regardless, it ought to be possible to try it out on Leroy, @squeem3. It seemed helpful for Gen's cheek (although my vet has asked me to cease any topical treatments at his current stage of healing).
