12/26-BEAR +11 47, AMBG 74, +3 76

What's with Lantus cats this week??? It's either the spaceship 🚀 or scuba diving 🤿 :arghh:

Come up, Bear! There are no friends at the bottom of the ocean!

Currently eating his regular breakfast.. he was fighting with me when i was trying to put the syrup on his gums lol poor thing got a syrup bath 😆 the cattery will be all over him once he gets out of kitty jail lol

I did test him last night at +3 and i thought i put it in the SS hmm will have to go back on my meter and readd.. cause we did do a higher lc snack before bed.

When should our next test be? How much influence did ol syrup-gums have? Lol

Keep on paddling around the lagoon, Bear

I’d try for +3. He might get a bit higher before then due to the syrup, but looking back to the last few days, I think this is mostly his pancreas, possibly a little leftover 0.1u depot although arguably that even didn’t have much time to build.

GO PANCREAS GOOOO!!! 💚🤩

Bear hopes you had a nice Christmas! He just missed his auntie christie and wanted your attention again I guess 🤷‍♀️ haha

Ive been telling him what a celebrity hes become between the group and forum lol all this attention has gone to his head 😂😂

Haha, Bear is most certainly making my mornings very exciting ! Christmas was lovely although it’s colder than a snowman’s …nose here lol. Hope you had a wonderful Christmas too! He is most definitely a celebrity, I think he’s been following too closely when we talk about him and wanted to keep shaking things up 🤭

Ohhhh, OH… did he earn another reduction? Haha I think Kim was talking about drop dosing? Or should we switch to TR at this point? 🤷‍♀️
Im really thrown for a loop with all this

Yes, we could try a drop dose to give his pancreas a little support, but you’d have to be comfortable with shooting green preshots, and you’ve already had three skips. I was thinking about seeing if you feed at +9 and his BG drops to preshot, at least for a few cycles and if he stays in greens. Maybe let’s see how it goes today.

Shoot green for a drop dose, or tr?

Is this all highly unusual, what we’re seeing happen here? We’re still super new to the FD game so im not even sure what typical is.. I feel like as soon as I get my BEAR-ings, he pulls a cheeky sneaky 😈 and we’re switching up again lol

Well, both. Those who follow TR with a goal towards remission will be looking to get to 50 - 80 mg/dL, with only an occasional number above 100, which is considered the normal range for a healthy cat for a week before stopping insulin altogether.

So, shooting numbers above 50 when following TR is done, since usually those lead to nice flat numbers, but usually people work their way down to that based on the data they have collected.

The goal for those who follow the SLGS guidelines is generally for their cat to achieve BGs in the 90-149 range. That isn’t to say that getting to remission isn’t possible, but the ways to it aren’t the same. I had hoped he would be able to at least hold onto 0.1u for a while longer, but even with skips he dropped under 50. So, even with working down a little to a small dose, Bear still seems to be doing his thing.

Hes making my head spin with all these bear-nannigans 🙂↔️ loll

i do need to run out around +5 and will be back by +7 … what are we thinking? Part of me thinks his regular lc.. but is that my ego talking to wanna keep him green 💚 haha
Regular LC is fine, I’m really liking this cycle so far, nice and steady. You don’t have an onset per se of exogenous insulin to worry about.

I might beef him up with a bit more than his half can lunch but it will just be more LC..

I wanted to mention ive seen him at the water bowl a bit more today,, is this concerning? He did run around quite a bit last night 😆
