Jude rarely shows symptoms of his FIC flares or his UTIs. One symptom, though, is his bg goes up when he has either. Occasionally, he will urinate outside the box, which he did when he had a flare back in Oct. Each time this happens, I have to take him in for a cysto + culture/sensitivity to determine what we are dealing with. In the past, he has had UTIs, that we treated with abs but more recently, the c/s did not detect bacteria. He had a cysto + c/s about two weeks ago (negative), but in the time between the test and waiting for the results, the doctor put him on Clavamox because he suspected infection and wanted to get on top of it. Jude has taken Clavamox several times in the past with only the symptom of diarrhea, but this time, Jude stopped eating and we figured out he was nauseous from the ab, so I stopped it just short of a week. When the ab made him stop eating the doctor put him on Ondansetron, which helped quite a bit to get his appetite back. By that time, we had received the results from the c/s and they were negative. Last week, the doctor did full blood chemistries to look at Jude's liver, kidneys, and pancreas: all good.
Thanks, Kat. He does have some inflammation--mild stomatitis, they call it. He had a dental back in February, but the doctor says he needs another one. I don't think the inflammation is so severe to be causing problems with his numbers, but who knows.Sweet Jude, what is going on? Sending vines his way that whatever this is resolves quickly, Mary
Is see you have "Dental" on Judes sheet in a couple days, maybe there is some inflammation in there that is causing the rise in numbers? I do hope he settles soon; I know it's concerning for him to be up and down so much.

Since stress/anxiety is often seen as the driver of FIC, I wonder how seasonal changes/winter would factor into that? I'll have to give that some thought.
Last winter I had 3 large units running in our house and we were pouring 6+ gallons a day into them and even that barely kept humidity in 30s. We installed a new AC and furnace this past Summer and had a humidifier added, so our downstairs is managed automatically and stays at around 45%. But upstairs is still a challenge. Have one unit running, about 2 gallons a day. The room where Minner spends alot of time is running around 35%. It’s really hard to combat the dry gas heat and get back into 40s or higher w/o embedded unit. I’m trying!
