Sevy - 12/1 welp "high" day. Hoping it's just cuz of travel.

Yes. He is doing really well and you are right about the importance of the snacks. They help stabilize the BG and often keep a cat surfing along in lower numbers.

@Suzanne & Darcy so one of my fears happen. I left the bottle of insulin out. I notice and imminently put it back but it was out for an hour and half. I just don't know which signs to look at for this medicine. It still looks a little cloudy (like usual) but no clumps or anything.

It looks like you should take him up to 2.25 units as long as you can monitor. I would like to see regular green. How is everything?
Hi! Apologies were/currently traveling and didn't see this! everything is going good but not really going down lower. He is luckily a good traveling cat and took the shot on the road like a champ!

A little nervous about increasing his dosage while traveling since his numbers might run higher from the stress, but he actually got a low reading once we made it home and he was able to relax. Even on the road his numbers looked good. I will increase to 2.25 units starting tomorrow.

There was sadly too much going today but will start on it on Tuesday as that is the best day for me to monitor him. photo_4974690061970508593_y.jpg

Starting the week great.....accidently did my first fur shot :arghh: not excited to see how high his numbers will get in the AM. Should still be good for an increase in the AM tomorrow or no?

This happened me to a couple of days ago and I was freaking out but Bee stayed strong and stayed in the mid blues-slightly high blues! It happens but I get the feeling of dread.

He is doing good! usually his low ones hit in the PM so I will keep an eye out but his morning didn't see much change. The firs blood one was 174 which lowkey freak me out for a hot second so I just took another one and it was 158 (glad I did since it remind me that there is a meter variance)

So thinking back on the feeding schedule. I feed him half his food at shot time and the other half around +2. No more (not counting his shot/med snacks) past that since his drop seems to always hit the +3. Is there a better way to spread it out to keep this numbers lower? or he doing good?

You can try splitting the +2 snack and feeding it at +2 and +4, but I don’t know if it will help. It’s good to experiment with feeding schedules to see what works. You can always revert to a previous schedule.

Tried a new method of feeding him less at once and spreading it out even more....I think that really helped! (make the can into quatres to slowly feed on his +2 and +4). Will keep trying different ways slowly since I think this will make a massive difference (hopefully). He doesn't look like it, but I am also keeping in mind that maybe the levels can be "high" due to the new place.

Did you just move? Or are you just traveling?

I hope everyone's having a good thanksgiving if celebrating. Thankful to have everyone in the forum :)

Hope you and you Kitties are doing good Suzanne 💕 Very happy to see this new trend might be sticking since the food change, but I do think Sev might need another bump on his unit.

Welp this was not how I was expecting today to go. Vacation with the grandparents has gotten us lazy :arghh:

His PM on 11/27 had him with a quater less food than usual and less snacks. While his AMPS today was "high" in the 150 and with that confidence there was less test since by +4 he was 122. His PMPS was 134 so was not expecting the drop of 76 by his +4 especially since I was not able to test his +2/3

He was meowing and moving more than usual (in the new environment) like he clearly wanted more food. I know this is the level we want him on...just honestly was not expecting it today or with this unit. Good to know since he keeps confirming that the food can created big changes on his levels. Testing +6 since I really need something to confirm it will go up
as you can see it feels like he just wanted my attention and give my heart a flip. 0d3f528f-1c6c-4fe7-8fd2-6145fde2bc94.jpg

Since you are home now, you can increase his dose to 2.5 units. Make sure he gets a good evening meal and snack at +2. You may need to give him a few more carbs in the evening than you do in the morning.

Explain to me what food changes you have been making. Is it timing or amount or type of food. I just want to make sure that I understand.
