things just busy and the tiredness next level.. missed coming on.. been meaning to. Peanut is a bit better, peeing less frequently, but still thirsty.. it even interferes with his eating. .. Vet said tests (organs, blood, urinalysis..) all great.. liver slightly high cuz the thistle, but i been trying to make sure he gets that too.. idkkkk.

Some constipation.. his probiotic helps that but idk why its.. im trying to find good dose again. Maybe didnt get anough, full cap seems to cause gas if that was it the other night.. usually do 3/4..

Ughhh..

Im trying to make sure he gets water.. even prefers me holding a bottle so he can drink now.. (he has a fountain..)…..

: (Lately also, the alarm app is NOT alarming. I cant take it. What does everyone do or suggest to help get up when needed?.. i HATE when i see a nunber of hrs went by and that blasted thing didnt do its job. Its amazing it doesnt work/not reliable..)

I’m sorry your alarm isn’t working. Huge bummer.
What kind of phone do you use??
Perhaps you can do a search online for issues with the phone and app not working. There may be answers online.
Have you updated all of your apps to make sure all apps are working properly?

You can also look for a third party app to try on your phone.

I’ve read S. Boulardii can help with constipation (as well as soft stools).
Have you ever tried that or read about?

Do you add any water to his food? Will he tolerate that to get more water in?

I'm asking, as I put my guy on this critical immune defense mix that's got that in there.
I've noticed a little of his bounce come back and feeling better. I'm also giving it along with Fenben to a girl recently diagnosed with Cancer in the gi. I was told to give it to her to fight liver damage.
And I'm so using you as an example the next time someone comments I over spoil my kids by doing this it that. Bottle feeding. That goes beyond me. Your baby is very lucky to have you.

Update: …….. just got info frm the pharmacy (FINALLY) about the compounded Amlodipine.. because I had a feeling to see on the side effects.. dehydration is one side effect.



maybe that is what's happening.. cuz that is the only thing that is different throughout out, the doctor was happy w his results, and we only increased the Amlodipine more, from before w the specialist.. helping tho tremendously but this cannot go on ~ its interfering w him eating now. he's thirsty all the time.. he won't eat sometimes cuz he wants to drink. we certainly can't do that treating things as we are.. he needs to eat when we need him to. I can tell its caused like a slight thing w his appetite, too, not terrible, but I see it. its just been stressful and concerning.. trying to juggle the thirst now. I'm going to call the doctor.. let him know. post it here. and we go from there.. not sure if the human Amlodipine (since its not compounded) will cause thirst.. but I have the transdermal ready to go. because I can't take how thirsty he is anymore. it's been hard. :/ he prefers drinking straight from a bottle I pour from him.. which happy to do but its hard all the time haha (cuz he was taking meds by mouth and would not be near his fountain I wanted to make sure he got water. whomp whomp..) plus how things w his numbers are.. its really good but we need him to eat. but also he needs his BP meds.. (doctor said - cuz I asked cuz yes.. - that because his body was stressed with the high BP might've been why numbers dropped off..)

hoping to find a happy medium. when he was on smaller doses tho even, it helped his numbers out then too and the medicine to do better.. I was instructed to get a BP machine at home (@tiffmaxee if you by chance might have one to recommend much appreciated ) and am wondering if to wait on that before switching to dermal.. I guess we'll see. I'd like to see have that as reference (how his meds are doing currently, 3x) to see how the transdermal would then be doing if we go there.. but waiting for that could be a few days and I feel crazy already. or maybe dose will just be reduced.. idk.

I pieced my BP Doppler together using eBay and got a refurbished one.

Why are you going to use transdermal amlodipine? It won’t be as effective from what I read but worth a try.

If the amlodipine is causing issues, maybe ask the vet about switching to telmisarten. My senior kitty with hypertension was getting a very rare side effect from amlodipine and we switched to telmisarten and it’s working very well.

omggg its so bad. some days it works and other days its a tool..
an expensive iPhone btw!!! like whatttt and all I hear is how much the alarm app stinks...
lol checked things immediately w updates and I don't see any needed...

going to see how things look w reducing and hoping his thirst gets better and that might help
his potty.. but good to have that too. he gets a good probiotic. going to make sure he gets it.

What was the side effect?

Gingival hyperplasia- gum overgrowth. Her gums got enlarged and lumpy and grew over her teeth which made it really hard for her to eat. It took several months for them to go back to normal but I could see them starting to recede after a few weeks of getting her off amlodipine. I read that it was a somewhat common side effect of amlodipine in dogs and asked the vet about it and she was skeptical since she'd never heard of it happening in cats but she found one case in the literature and agreed to switch meds since she didn't have any better ideas. And it worked!

tysm!!!! we're reducing to see if helps the side effects.. see if that's it to begin with cuz what else idk. and im gonna get a home machine and get some tests done in office if needed see how he's doing.. cuz this is just no bueno. :/

omg that's incredible.. thems machines are pricey!!! im just trying to find a cuff I guess.. doc said try to get a good one, like $100.. I dunno. he used one. took like 4-5 readings. idk. the ones I see are under $100.. like on Amazon.. I think I saw one or two for like $120-130.. shrug.

the transdermal is only if we have to.. like to bypass the stomach and maybe lessen the dose..

Update 2: so we're going to decrease his dose a tad (1x AM, 1X PM) just to see how he does and if it helps his thirst/potty... cuz idk/we don't know what else it could be. :/ gonna try to find a BP machine.. if anyone got any suggestions, much appreciated.
