Switched needles this morning finally and all I have to say is… I’m flabbergasted! The length (and thickness) difference is truly wild to me (picture below). I can’t believe I’ve been using such a long needle this whole time. Not surprised now that I had so many fur shots when I was first learning… that thing was so long!! Excited for the switch and interested to see if it has any impacts on the numbers.

Happy Friday all!! 🤗

That looks like the difference between the ones the vet gave us (Ulticare 12.7mm 28G) and the replacements we got (Ulticare 8mm 31G). Totally agree the smaller ones are way better!

Not surprised now that I had so many fur shots when I was first learning…
I'm more surprised that you haven't stabbed yourself more often--I did it probably once a week until we got shorter needles!

Whoa, huge difference, Briana! I hope the new ones are much easier to control!
Have a safe surf, Binx 🏄‍♂️🌊💞

Good grief, those things are like harpoons! I guess I was lucky, when I went many many years ago to the pharmacy, not knowing anything about insulin syringes, the assistant said, don’t worry, I know exactly what you need. Who knew you could get such long needles and promoted for pets to boot, maybe for a dog it makes sense

SAME HERE!! The vet started me on the bigger ones and I realized a few months ago but of course by then I had stock piled the bigger size. Why do they do that!! They should start us with the easy ones, we’re not trained vets.

Don’t worry, I’ve had a poke or two myself 😂 but agreed, surprised it hasn’t been more.

They do 😂 So glad you had that experience! You would hope anyone teaching a newbie what’s up, they’d know the best needle to recommend. I guess not for everyone! Happy to know now at least.
