Guys, I did the stupidest things last night!! I am so cross with myself

Yesterday evening Noogi was finally coming down nicely into the normal range on his new dose.
After his midnight BG check instead of giving him a little liver treat like normal I gave him a crunchy treat. I had the idea that it might keep him from dipping too low while I was asleep (not sure why I thought that was necessary as he was not in any danger). TBH I did not think it through at all, it was just an impulsive thing. And to make it worse he got so excited with the treat - his favourite, he really misses his crunchy food - I gave him several more!
I woke up 3am to check him, and his BG was sky high. And still in the red this morning. I was shocked - I just hadn't anticipated such a reaction. When I checked my list of foods just now I realized I gave him the treat with the highest carb content of all. I'm such a dumb-dumb! So sorry Noogi-boy

Putting it all down here as a reminder to myself not to do something so thoughtless again.
I'm guessing others have made errors and misjudged aspects about managing this condition - although maybe not as silly as this. I suppose they are all opportunities to learn. Maybe somebody will read this and avoid doing the same with their kitty.
So once more I am starting again after a set-back
Hoping he gets back on track soon.
